You mean they haven't been before? What got them determined? All they had to do was beat Michigan, and they have been unable to do that. Adding more teams is not going to change that.

3 points ... 1 field goal ... 3 ... points

in the CFP era only 3 teams have scored 3 or less in the Cotton Bowl -

Michigan St 0
Notre Dame 3
Bryan Day 3

even Luke Fickell and Cincinnati managed 6 against Saban

I believe Georgia would have beaten Michigan but I also thought Alabama would so I don't know. Michigan was better than I thought.

Kelly is putting together a big recruiting class. It will be interesting to see what LSU does with all the staff changes and incoming recruits.

If Georgia had played Alabama with non-SEC officiating it would have likely resulted in a bracket with 4 undefeated P5 conference champions competing for the title.

Texas was also gifted a slot by virtue of their win over Bama but failed to cash in as well.

Aside from the 2 B1G schools, the playoff selection was more political than deserving. I hope the 12-team playoff will change this.

You talking about the South here, not the Midwest. We don't have to get teams all over the country to compete.

A team from the Midwest just won the national title.

College football coaching as a whole took a huge hit with this retirement. The next Nick Saban probably hasn't even been born yet.

why are you here? and why are there not droves of people from here flocking to big10 sports forums? nobody here who's an sec alumni/fan even knows the name of a b1g forum, let alone give a frick about it.

answer: because nobody gives a frick about Michigan and their little conference that they whip up on.

the fact that this place is full of b1g & acc fans tells you all you need to know on who's swinging the big dick now & in the future.

Fall apart? No way. Take a step back? Absolutely. Saban was the unquestioned leader and standard setter.

the SEC was alive and well long before Saban ever came in.

No. I think your of the mindset that this somehow helps the Big 10....no there's just going to be more SEC teams in the playoffs now that you'll have to deal with. I'd put our top teams against yours any day.

Saban was the worst thing ever to happen to the SEC.
Ding-Dong the witch is dead.
