It really feels knee jerk. They hire the shiny new thing with a good run. How many dozens of coaches have been hired by teams that had a good run or did “more with less”.

No real recruiting ties to the south, no real history with the program, literally one really good season.

Feels like this is going to end poorly.

And still took his team to a national championship game.

Where he promptly got waxed by a team whose QB couldn't pass the ball to save his soul

Now think about a core team being built by Nick Saban. You guys are writing all of the good jokes today.

Alabama fans are in denial if they think this new hire will keep the ball rolling like Saban did

So the guy can take a sub top 25 roster and beat teams that are always in the top 10 and have more talent? Oh no

Without Penix they would’ve been projected to finish 6-7th in the Big Ten this year behind:
deboer coached penix at indiana

I would think he would do better at recruiting to Alabama than Washington or anywhere he has ever been. Alabama got a good coach.

the guy is 104-12 as a head coach. He's 25-2 against the top 25

Yet was able to be a 3 star general of a title game while several teams packed to the gills with 4-5* players were watching on tv. That's exactly why this was a good hire.

It's Auburn logic. You're in the SEC now, you'll need need get used to it. I know. It doesn't make sense.

So, by that logic Kalen DeBoer= Sonny Dykes.

Except Sonny Dykes was mediocre everywhere he coached before TCU. DeBoer wasn't mediocre anywhere he's coached.

Harsin won 12 games in 2019 with a team full of 6th year seniors?
