Alabama already had the most SEC and national titles in the conference, the most wins and a winning record over every SEC team.

Alabama won over 2/3 its titles before Coach Saban came, so that would be wonderful.

Bama’s all-time record is 966-338-43 (.733)… this translates to 8.8 wins on average if playing a 12-game season. So yes, 8-9 wins a season is very much the norm.
The success Bama has enjoyed 2008-2023 is not the norm. Just as the success Bryant enjoyed from about 1960-1980 was not the norm.
