Saban knew this was his last year. Sent Golding to work with Kiffin for one year. Kiffin and Golding will be back in Tuscaloosa by Monday.

If Lanning and Sark turn it down, it's gonna be interesting.
I would think they'd want to get this done quickly due to portaling out. Rejections prolong the hiring process.

Neither of those guys is leaving.
Dabo, however, has reverted to the Clemson norm. Farst come home! will be the mantra

When Bama said they'd have the position filled in 72 hours, it's pretty obvious they already had their guy.

Bama has had great fortune hiring coaches who had success at LSU, then had much less success at the next stop. There’s really only one answer.

Whoever it is gonna be, it's already been decided. Saban was too meticulous in everything he did to not make sure his successor wasn't lined up already.

This is what I think too, but then I read reports of him interviewing WR coach candidates yesterday morning and the fact his players and assistants didn't expect it.
I think its fairly safe to say it was about some sort of health issue, so if the Bama AD is actually as prepared for this as they seem to be then that means Saban at least gave them a window as to when this could happen.

Why don't yall come get Pittman, I'm sure we could wave the buyout fee.

You actually have a buyout for him? I mean we need a good OL coach but a buyout to get one I dunno

Quotes by Kiffin:
“What could you possibly do right if you don’t win the national championship every year?” Kiffin said. “‘You’re going to follow Nick Saban at Alabama?’ No, that would not be a good decision for anyone.”
“I followed two Hall of Fame coaches in Phillip Fulmer and Pete Carroll. Not smart. So, you see how USC ended. (Replacing Saban) would be the dumbest follow ever.”
