I’m Byrne and I hear someone like DeBoer demand $10mil/year min, I’m hanging up

You make $4.2 a year and you have zero natties. You can have $7.5/year for 5 years or I’m on to the next guy

Then...who.? If going by that list: Norvell or Rees and then Novel is thinking...no way in heck they are going mid 30S OC as the next coach in TTown....or on to some other guy that will be in over his head on day 2 So again, go for 9 million. If I get 8 yay..if they move on .I rejected them, get a raise at FSU ( or UW in the case of DeBoer) and.... What? Bama offers Rees? Not happening. DeBoer can get 8 mil out of this if he wants

I think if it was Lane, it would have been announced already.

We have to announce tomorrow it’s paramount to keep this team together.

I assure you, Saban didn't come to the office today to play dominos. He's continuing his day-to-day duties for the next 72 hours. The players are being communicated with. Recruits are recieving phone calls. They're not being hung out to dry.

Rees isn't even mid 30s. He's only 31.

Y'all really need to stop believing these lists. It's just random people making guesses and capitalizing on the clicks. Nobody knows who is really on Byrne's list.

The most fun is watching the Rantards celebrating like they won a national championship. Their long nightmare is finally over (they think).

Was this board or tRant up when the Rich Rod and Saban saga was going down? I wasn’t here for the Saban-to-Texas drama either. This place - tRant as a whole - is wild as fvk when it comes to Bama. We’ve broken all their pathetic asses.

Nothing new to add, just responding to your post.
I’d heard yesterday mid morning that a team meeting had been called and several other specific things had happened leading up to the meeting. Source told me he was only “guessing” but that when those things added up in his head that he thought maybe it could be to announce his retirement.
That was way to big for me to come post here what was speculation at the time. I didn’t think it was fair to Coach Saban, the team and staff if indeed it was true.

It wasn't here for RichRod/Saban. Was just TigerDroppings at that point. In 2013, they were all convinced Saban was off to Texas. I'm sure many will remember all the "He Gone" posting

Before hiring Norvell I’d rather give all the money to Oats and build a new arena inside Bryant-Denny

I'd say it would be insane to see our basketball program with football NIL fund. But honestly, Oats is damn near at the point it's not possible to recruit much better. Our only misses this year were because of family connections.

Yeah, my dad loved reading the Rant because of all the cringe LSU fans pooping their pants about Saban around that time, it’s how I discovered the site.

If we hired Brian Kelly, I think some of them would spontaneously combust on the spot. Be nothing but a pile of ash and crayfish pincers.

Yes it was. I've been here since 2006, but got banned in 2012.

I was posting on the hellscape known as AL.com back then and didn’t know about this place (that’s hard to admit )

To summarize after 111 pages. Saban retired and Lanning is out. Did I miss anything?
Oh, and if it hasn’t been mentioned, frick Auburn AND LSU.

We've also learned that no amount of politicking to an bentire fanbase can overcome fricking the wrong booster's wife.

if it's down to Kiffin or Rees, I bet that booster would let Lane hit it again.

Anyone who thinks this is a bad or underwhelming hire is too stupid to get out of the frickin' rain.

His recruiting classes weren’t even in the top 20 the past two years and he only lost 3 games. I’d think with more resources , he could become unstoppable. That being said , college football you could argue is becoming more equal across the board with nil and portal. You saw it this year. Without nil, I don’t think Texas or UW even get close to the Natty.
