It’s crazy. No matter what Byrne has done before this or will do after this hire. His entire legacy will be dependent on this hire.
Surely he knew this when he took the job but you want to talk about pressure!

The Athletic (Bruce Feldman) is reporting that the Top 3 candidates are Norvell, DeBoer and Tommy Rees.

The part that makes me uneasy. Hope the team morale isn’t shattered and that they still have faith in the program.

You aren’t hanging up because you are sitting across the table from him currently.

Means Byrne has picked his guy and they’re hashing out numbers.

People need to start calling him Madam Sexton. He's got someone for you, no matter what your kink.

I know we're all going to panic every 5 minutes, but I'd at least wait the 72 hours before I got too serious about it.

Exactly. The only way this job goes for less than $10-12mm is if we have to go the coordinator route.

We can’t claim “We’re Bama” but let’s nickel and dime you. You’re asking a select few coaches to replace the GOAT.

It ain’t gonna be cheap for the head coach and the staff.

Ok. Here's the thing. Ive been telling my buddies that sark is AWFULLY quiet here. Like my buddy said it's one of two things. All these people are smoke and mirrors and he was the guy from jump, or he ain't coming. I'm just waiting on the let down. I'll appreciate his time here and getting us back to where we need to be going forward. But I won't hold no ill will towards sark. Saban saved his life. And he feels like he owes him to replace him. Just my .02 cents.

This Texas fan won't be like the LSU fans and hate him. Some will. But not me.

Duke basketball had to promote from within after K retired. Same with UNC and OSU football or OU football for that matter.

This is what surprises me. We easily pay our coach 10+mil per year, but people think we can't come up with 20 mil for a buyout. Not that we will have to, but that's the general opinion of some.

We don’t know exactly what happened with Lane and boosters possibly. But he left abruptly and took a job at FAU of all places so it’s safe to say he didn’t leave on the best terms

I think it’s safe to say Lane didn’t leave on the best terms with anyone.

I don’t know anything about the booster thing, but I saw with my eyes Lane flake out on the team before the Washington game leaving Sark in a very hard situation for the subsequent game that cost us the 2016 title.

Could it also just be that Lane has a terrible record in big games?

No clue. But I would assume, within reason, he pretty much does. If we are gonna pull Sark or even DeBoer, it’s going to be expensive.
