A friend of mine (I know, I know) told me a few months ago that he had a feeling this was his final year due to health reasons (not his).

End of era, in more ways than one. Hate to see him go, but glad to have been around to see the greatest of all time in action.

Legit surprised by the timing. Hoping rumors about loved one’s health issues aren’t true.

Thanks to Coach. Never thought I’d say it after the Bear, but CNS is the best of all time.

Shame we couldn't send him out with a win, but this season was a testament to his ability as a coach. Can't say I blame him with all these changes to CFB, but I'm still surprised. Wish we could have had a moment carrying him off the field like Bryant after the 1982 Liberty Bowl.

Thought he might have another year or two in him, and I’m bummed. But happy for him and Ms Terry. Love you coach and thank you for all the memories!

End of an era. This sucks, but it was going to happen one day.

Hate we didn't win it all this season but super happy that Saban ended it with wins against UT, LSU, AU, and UGA. He got a final W against every respective SEC team as a matter of fact.

Well he couldn't coach forever.
He's already 3 years old than Bear was when he hung it up.

He did what no coach in College Football History has done or will ever do. He’s earned the right to go out on his terms. Thank You Coach Saban and Roll Tide!

Sucks so much! I didn't think he'd retire before the 12 team playoff but NIL ran him off because it's ridiculously out of control and cheaters like Harbaugh prosper.

Bring on Kirby or Kiff.

I always assumed he'd get to 300 wins, just because of how close he is and how rare it is to achieve it. But at the same time, if CFB is becoming exhausting to fans, you know it's a thousand times worse on the coaches. I wouldn't put up with this shite either tbh
