Been hearing muffled fireworks going off here in AL all evening. Finally realized it's gumps heads exploding.

Many knuckle-walking Bama fans will be returning to cave painting.

Thank you Coach Saban for everything you contributed to the university, the football program and the state of an Alabama. You stayed much longer and won more than I ever expected. Actually found my student ticket the other day from your first game as the coach of Bama!

I have found that if someone who isn't a player or employee of a university refers to a Coach as "Coach X" instead of just one or both of his names then that person is usually somewhat limited in knowledge and may tend to be a bit of a sycophant
And yes, this trend is most prevalent with Bama fans

COACH Saban aka your daddy ended 16-1 while at Bama against your bottom feeder football program. The psychopath is you for believing your program will achieve anything of merit in the next 25 years. Keep believing in 1998 my friend.

Rivals says Lanning in Tuscaloosa. The other site says no to all of the big names and Norvell and Kalen DeBoer are the list.

I think Lanning and Kiffin are the most likely floated names to actually be considered. Norvell, Sark are not leaving their programs even if Alabama is historically a bit better. DeBoer has no ties to the region, not known as a recruiter either. He just doesn’t strike me as a guy whose next stop is a bigger college team. He seems like one of those guys who will go NFL.
My guess is Lanning or someone we’d never guess and hasn’t been mentioned much.

1 reason that I think it could be Lanning..
Oregon hasn't been active at all in the transfer portal for at least 2 weeks from what I can tell. They did have 1 guy commit a couple of days ago, but there isn't much going on there.
1 reason that I think it won't be Kiffin..
I believe that this has been planned for a while, especially if they make a hire pretty quick. If that is true, there is no way that it is Kiffin with the way he has been attacking the transfer portal this year.
It might be Lanning. It is not Kiffin.

That Lanning guy gives off some serious Tom Hermann vibes minus the kissing the players...Just seems like a bit of a strange dude. Seems weird that BAMA would be interested. He didn't really have to rebuild Oregon, he just kept them at the same level at what he took them over at. Not much of a track record.
I would make Urban Meyer say no before looking at a lot of these Coaches they are considering..Lanning wouldn't even be in my top 5.

I’m curious what everyone sees in UM and why he’s brought up since leaving cfb.

Pretty sure Bama fans would be happy with the next coach keeping them at an elite level.

What a great coach and a great ambassador for football.
Thanks, Coach!
Thanks, Coach!

This era of football doesn’t need another Saban.
You can’t build a dynasty anymore. It isn’t about long term development of players. You have to restock almost half your team every year. Admissions don’t matter. Transfers don’t matter. Eligibility doesn’t matter.
Hell, recruiting classes aren’t nearly as important. You just go buy what you need now.

No way Kiffin bolts Ole Miss.
I think he's happy there. I think he is winning, and next year looks to be equal or better than this one. He will have a CFP team next year.
Also, Kiffin can pretty much be himself without the microscope that he would constantly have up his arse at BAMA about his PC image, etc.
Lastly, Kiffin would miss all that lovely blonde sorority tail in the Grove. Who wouldn't?

Enjoy retirement. Nick is the goat and got LSU back on track and created a power in LSU and Bama for decades . Hated playing against him but always respected him .
