He was a decent employee.

Maybe replace him with a better employee.

It is just out in the open now. The NCAA always selectively punished violations and looked the other way for their favored teams and coaches.

I have always said, “there is nothing knew under the sun.”

I will await the call from Harvard for the position of President.

Maybe.... Show's the kid has a brain.

His coach left, he got the rug pulled from under his feet, so he jumped fast to see WTF was going on. Not in his shoes, but it's not really unexpected, unless the kid's too slow upstairs to understand and react.

Now he's got time to see what's being discussed and plan accordingly. Sounds like a grow up move to me. And something a smart college kid would do and not some dumb jock who's only thought is to play.

Could go with loyalty card but that reeks of knee jerk dependence.

Huh? I mean Huh?

He was getting NIL...check.

He was a starter......check.

He wanted to try cornerback, even though he was too slow and we let him....check.

What am I missing, his coach left and he is upset? Tell me you have never been through a corporate restructure without telling me you have never been through a restructure.

If he hits the portal, if, thats if, its probably to see if he can make some more coin. We took a JC kid and gave him the opportunity to become a star, he seized it, we are both happy, if he can make more money so be it.

From what I can gather from this situation is it's not about NIL or any other school contacting him. It seems he is not happy with coaches (and some players). From what it sounds like, RR is difficult to work with and might even run off Etheridge. If Etheridge leaves, Scott is likely gone.

Sorry, but it too late to grab what's already gone over your head.

As for this news and college football in general, I’m losing interest. shite is whack. The NIL and transfer portal are ruining college football.

Preach. If this is the new thing where we have to hope our players hang around each year, then that sucks.

Can't imagine being a coach having to deal with this.

This is my feeling on it as well. These guys, especially the top guys, were already getting paid. It was just much shadier, and the NCAA was able to pick and choose who had to play by the rules and who didn’t. While I don’t think the current state of college football is sustainable, and overhauls are going to be necessary, I have some optimism that ultimately we might see some more parity among the top 25 or so programs with NIL and the portal being what they are now. There’s a long way to go, but it doesn’t have to be all doom and gloom, talking about how I’m going to have to watch DIII football for the purity of the game now.

That said, this year’s DIII championship game was one of the best games I watched this season.

like playing frickin whack-a-mole just trying to keep a team together these days
Coaches will really earn their millions to keep teams together on top of recruiting new kids and managing NIL limits at the same time.

Ike Jones at the War Rapport is close to Scott. TWR did a video where Ike said Scott gave him a heads up about the portal. Says it's not about NIL or another school recruiting him. He wants to stay at Auburn. Looks like it's about the coaching moves. There's still time for this to work out in our favor.

That's my whole thing on this one. Players are gonna leave now. It is just the "new" college football. I don't really fault them in most cases. But don't announce you're coming back, make a damn hype video for said announcement, then hop in the portal because some coach (who wasn't even coaching him for the majority of the season) leaves for a new job.
