Freeze better learn how to use the fricking portal otherwise we will be a temporary landing spot for years to come. Still waiting to fill holes in the trenches and stuck with a shite Qb.

His coach left, he got the rug pulled from under his feet, so he jumped fast to see WTF was going on. Not in his shoes, but it's not really unexpected, unless the kid's too slow upstairs to understand and react.
Now he's got time to see what's being discussed and plan accordingly. Sounds like a grow up move to me. And something a smart college kid would do and not some dumb jock who's only thought is to play.
Could go with loyalty card but that reeks of knee jerk dependence.

Every article I find states Scott “intends to” or is “going to” enter the portal. Not one addresses the fact it’s currently closed. I think Scott may be considering entering the portal later, but if he isn’t in it now, he won’t be until spring.

He probably submitted his paperwork by the deadline, and the staff has 48 hours to put his name in.
He may still be thinking it over, his name isn’t in the portal but it would have to be by end of the day tomorrow.

This is happening to every school. It isn’t just Auburn.
It’s going to be hell for coaches to manage their roster. Get used to it. Stop thinking the world is ending and it’s all the coaches fault.

No one is saying the world is ending, but it really sucks Scott is leaving. Not only is he a starter, but he has been the public face of this team. He is literally the LAST person on the roster I saw leaving.

As for this news and college football in general, I’m losing interest. shite is whack. The NIL and transfer portal are ruining college football.

It was Coach Prime. He screwed us for talking to Kelly. We were hiring Kelly either way, but the news wasn't supposed to be official until next week.
None of the staff Changes were supposed to happen until after the window closed.
Losing Keionte the CB doesn't hurt, but losing Keionte the Nickel sucks.

Meh, it was a bIt hyperbolic i admit. My point is that there is not much programs can do in some cases. Courts are tying the hands of college football and now portal is wide open without penalty to players.
Not defending Freeze because I haven’t agreed with all his moves and we don’t really know the specifics of what is happening in the program. However, freeze has to make changes to get the right mix, and decisions always have consequences. The new landscape of CFB is crazy right now. We will lose some that hurt and others they can’t transfer fast enough.
For me personally I am not going to worry or be concerned about every move, change, transfer, etc. I honestly believe contracts will be introduced to complete the College professional league transformation.
Some of this is out of the HC’s control but will carry the blame due to their position and expectations of performance.

Yep, I remember the discussion before it went into effect and I opposed the changes and the courts just keep making it worse with their rulings. It is going to be a gargantuan task to manage a roster. High school recruiting, retaining players, portal, personnel/staff management. It’s a circus. Not saying players didn’t deserve payment but what we have right now, is as you said whack AF.

College football is going to die. No one wants this shite. Nothing against Scott or any player but I don’t watch pro football for the same reason I don’t watch other people do their jobs. College football is supposed to be about student-athletes not about who has the most money can buy the most players. We very well could be a top school buying players but this shite sucks.
