Why would we have to do that when we can just pay a Mizzou grad?

I still don't accept South Carolina and Arkansas

You vacated that game in 2013. So actually you’re 0-1. Sorry champ.

quote:Good for them, I'm fine with that? Conference acceptance simply isn't something we need or crave...and I can't understand why anyone would be concerned with that. I'm sick of being in a conference carried by the two teams at the top and looking forward to coming into a conference that has many big dogs so we can just blend in and earn our respect, and more importantly not ride the coattails (or have many coattails riders) of what other programs are able to accomplish.
Don't think the teams in question get it, you will not be disliked for dominating a conference like you have...because you will be mediocre...it's will you be accepted and not perceived as outsiders...TX and their giant ego fan base will not be anytime soon...I predict OK will blend right in
There's a reason the Rig12 had to furiously raid what's left of the PAC, otherwise their TV deals would be shite and they would have faded into complete irrelevance after we left. Having said that, good luck finding one of those 18 schools that will be able to win the Directors cup on the regular like we did and give the conference some good publicity.

I accept everyone but UF and Tennessee. Rest of y'all have some fun.

When will OG SEC fans accept Texas and Oklahoma?
Just speaking for myself, I'd have rather accepted them in 2012 over Mizzou and TAMU.
It might surprise you to know that nobody gives a frick who you and your little friends in your backyard treehouse "accept" in your club.
This is big business baw. Grow the frick up!

If only the Mizzou or Pig fans held a different opinion about the Whorn propensity to backstab and power grab in every conference they've ever belonged to.
Ain't one king in the SEC. This place works because the chessboard is balanced. A pawn like State can be queen for a day atop the rankings. Aggy is damn happy being Bama's knight. Maybe y'all will rate a bishop if you lucky. This ain't frickin checkers like the Big XII, yo.

Traditionalist here. Would just assume to have the original SEC predating SC, Arkie, Mizou, and TAMU…. ut and Oklahoma also.

As an apprentice member of the Rant I think it will be interesting to watch the dynamics of this "acceptance" things. Obviously, the dynamics of play on the field will affect this to some degree...
But I think from an historical perspective SEC fans should cut us some slack relative to being members.
As for Texas, the Alamo, Sam Houston, SFA, Jim Bowie... 90% of the early settlers came from what are now SEC states.
Oklahoma? A good majority of the people who lived in Oklahoma before 1889 were originally from SEC states as we were the home of the tribes after they got moved from their ancestral SEC homes. Many of the whites who settled in Indian territory were southerners. Some of the actual white "land thieves" were also southerners although Texans by proxy.
It is still fascinating to see native place names in Oklahoma that are shared with those in SEC states. Oklahoma and Alabama both have "Lake Eufaulas" due to the Creek nation presence. And that is just one of many examples of how Oklahoma is connected to other SEC states.
