going to be an alabama state/ ala a&m type opponent. We havent played the Citadel in a while

I think you have to be higher than that to lock in. The top 4 seeds will be the conference champions with the best records (so ACC, BIG, Big XII, SEC). You would assume they would all be in the top 10. Then the highest ranking G5 champ gets in, even if they aren't in the top 12. Not sure what happens with the PAC2. If they still get an auto bid Wash St/Oregon St could be out of the top 12. Which would mean you have to be top 10 to assure an at large bid

I don't think they'll stick us with a conference game on week 1, but no doubt saban will insist on it Nov 23.

OU on Aug 31st wouldn’t shock me at all… The SEC and ESPN are gonna wanna make a splash right off bat next yr.

Maybe it was bc we were getting our arse kicked, but 2002 Arkansas is the hottest game I can ever remember… old man a row below us passed out.

I think the seminal information for us is going to be who we get the week before we travel to Tuscaloosa.
Assuming it is a home conference game (very highly likely) the candidates are TAMU, Arkansas, or Vanderbilt. (Fingers crossed for the obvious choice.) It cannot be Oklahoma (our other home SEC game), because they play Bama that week.
Outside shot it is a road conference game, which means at Kentucky or at Missouri. But that would give us back-to-back road games to close out the regular season, and I don't see that happening.
Very slim chance it is a non-conference game (and therefore it would be a team not currently on our schedule, so it would be the creampuff of all creampuffs) or an open date. But I would not hold my breath for either of these.
