Would take some heat yes, but they get nothing out of losing to UGA or unlikely beating them and you just have an even bigger what could have been while not having any real shot at a split championship. Just give the establishment a big middle finger. Hell just player opt outs takes the heat off the school and nobody would blame the players after getting screwed.

No, they should play and pray to God they have no opt outs and for UGA to have a shite ton. Hopefully they wax UGA and claim a share of the national title.

Good lesson for the players. Life’s unfair and when it gets tough you should just quit.

My cousin sent me something on tiktok, someone had a suggestion.

If they dont want to play, they shouldnt say anything. Take their extra practices, go to miami and hang out.

Walk out on the field at gametime, then turn around and walk back in the locker room. ESPN would shite their pants.

But really, if they could beat Georgia and if Bama loses the first game. Could you imagine the uproar? Id laugh.

That's a lot of money to leave on the table. And the other conference members are entitled to a split of part of that money as well.

Watch for opt-outs. There's your answer.

Georgia is basically homegrown and their culture of winning is going to not only keep them together, more than most anyway, but, I think, highly motivated to win this game.

It's hard to say that about FSU. They have a ton of Transfer Portal kids who haven't grown up wishing to be where they are.

It will be interesting to see if Mike Novell has built that kind of respect and culture to not quit with his kids.

I’d be ok with FSU opting out of that bowl

Or, beat UGA and make the committee eat their words

But we know that won’t happen

So instead they should just quit

Would be more than heat. The conference would slam them because they would be missing out on the bowl money. The school needs the bowl money to finance other sports. I am sure ESPN could sue the shite out of the ACC and FSU for some type of breach.

Way too much $$$$$$$$$$$$$ to take their ball and go home.

Play the game and win. Then hop UT or Bama wins out so you can claim a title as undefeated.

I am sure this has been mentioned on here, but in 1969 LSU was 9-1 with the only loss by 3 to Ole Miss. The Tigers were ranked 10th in the Country, and looking at going to the Cotton Bowl where they would have played #1 Texas. Notre Dame, who hadn’t played in Bowls since the 1920s, suddenly decided to start again.

After being screwed over by the Cotton Bowl, the LSU players voted to decline invitations to lesser bowls.

I wish we were in a position to say frick everybody and turn it down. We're having a shitload of opt outs and there's literally no point in playing this game. UGA will have opt outs too but with their depth they'll still beat our brains in. ESPN won't mention all of our star players opting out of this exhibition game, they'll just say look they lost, all of our self righteousness about not putting FSU in is on point

Yeah…their administration should totally frick over the players for whom this would be their last football game ever, or those for whom this would be their only chance to play a NY6 Bowl.

People who voice opinions like yours know nothing about being a competitive athlete.

To avoid getting beat so everyone would understand why they weren't picked in the four team playoff?

people on the internet love to say that "sec teams will just say they don't care about the bowl" when they lose but TD feels like a safe space where i can say that georgia definitely wont fricking care about this bowl. i imagine the opt out list is going to be decent.

there is smoke around guys like brock and ladd really wanting to play, but i dont think those close to them will advise them to do so. it makes no sense for hobbled guys like that to play in this game. i guess carson beck will play if he's coming back? shite, he'll probably play and try to put good tape out and see if he rises at all from it.

florida state should just care a ton and try to win and be able to bitch about this forever. even though it's fricking dumb, if they lose, they will get shut down every time they try to bring this up for eternity.
