I'm pretty sure it was LSU who got tainted that night

Despite Chicken's best efforts, the only title Bama claims that doesn't have legitimacy is 1941

I agree and wish we didn’t claim that one

We got screwed in '45, '66 and '77. The last two would have been involved in 3-peats.

Only thing that got tainted that night was the drunk LSU fan at Krystal’s

BIG means well but he's a rich elite. It's hard for him to relate to us blue collar folk.

1941: Finished with two losses and no contemporary ranking made them #1.
1973: Claim is for coaches poll that awarded NC before bowl. They share it with ND, who beat them in the Sugar Bowl.
1978: Shared with Southern Cal, who beat them during regular season.
2011: Voters put them in rematch while BCS computers favored Okie State. Didn't win SEC West, but got bid to BCSNCG
2017: Loss to Auburn meant they didn't win SEC West, but got invite to CFP.

I was there that night and remember thinking how empty their side was at that point. They weren’t sticking around for that shite, lol.

Yea, finishing the season with wins over 3 of the top 5 and 4 of the top 11 would surely be a season nobody would respect as legitimate

1941
Is total bullshite and it's an embarrassment for UA to claim it. The questionable ones from the 60s & 70s may not pass the sniff test by today's standards, but they were awarded according to the rules at the time and not invented out of thin air years later using some retroactive measurement, like 41.

The pre-AP Era ones (25, 26, 30, & 34) I guess you could argue, but the Rose Bowl was the only post-season bowl game at that time and Bama won it.

I left in the 3rd quarter. It was surreal how we couldn't move the ball on offense...at all. Hat tip to Bama that night.

But you shouldn't have been in the championship game. Sorry, had to melt a bit.
