Honestly... because bama fans expect other to kiss their arse. If bama was so elite, they wouldn't have lost to LSU last year or the aggies one year or just pick a loss.

I am an LSU fan and want the SEC to be represented in the playoff. It could be anyone of a few of us in this situation. We need to show our dominance by winning. Having Texas and an SEC team in would be the perfect scenario for our conference.

As an LSU fan that hates Bama and has never cheered for them in my life even out of conference, they deserve to be in.
SEC champ, they have the best regular season win vs UGA and two other top 12 wins. 2nd to best loss after Ohio St.

Texas

FSU just misses it based on ACC being worst conf.

If Alabama has scheduled Samford instead of UT, it would be a moot point. They would be “undefeated” and unquestionably inside the top 4. The precedent the committee would be setting would deter any decent future OOC scheduling. Why risk it when it clearly doesn’t matter?
Hell, if FSU had to play LSU in November instead of September, they wouldn’t even have survived that game again, much less a game against UGA or UA.

Goes back to 2011 when bama got the mulligan. LSU went undefeated and beat bama at bama and then bama got into the final because its bama. they are trying for the same thing today but with a bit of a better case, but I still say no. There are three undefeated conf champs. Period. the last slot goes to Texas over bama because texas has already beaten bama. this is colloege ball and not pro ball. no do overs.
