Sure hasn't seemed like it since the last few years of Gus. This level of recruiting hasn't happened for AU in a good while now.

Auburn flipping five star kids from other programs has pretty much never happened. We’re also getting first pick at some high quality recruits in future classes.
Freeze knows what’s he doing on the trail. Just needs to learn 4th and 31s and G5 teams.

Probably bring in a portal and have him compete with Thorne. Thorne did not get to go through spring and was on campus only 2 months before season started. He got better towards tail end of season as he got more comfortable. With a full off-season, he might be able to win the job on his own.
Thorne was throwing for 3000 yards at MSU so it's not like he forgot how to do it. He just didnt have much help around him. I don't like to talk shite about players, but the WR room was awful this year. (Outside of Var Johnson and Fairweather who is a TE).

Yeah I think it's a much better situation going into next year at qb than last year. Even if the portal doesn't pan out, I think you're right with regards to Thorne. He played better once the stupid flip flopping with Ashford was done. He is enough of a run threat to keep teams honest. Plus the 4 star kid Walker White coming in and Geriner (hopefully) stays.
