I could agree with that... I'd say Texas, Alabama, then Ohio State. At least two of those are still in their conference championship races.
Except for the fact that CBS doesn't want Alabama in the playoffs. Period !

CBS got away with keeping Alabama out of the playoffs last year and are dead set on doing it again this year.
What dashed their plans was when Michigan couldn't delivery after TCU was offered up to them in the first round and Ohio State lost to Georgia.

The committee is ranking based on where things stand after Saturday in their minds.
Knowing that each of those other teams have one more game and wins by both or all will push them above OSU
It's not rocket science, they do this every year

Do you mean put 2 loss Iowa above Ohio State?
No.
Just that using being able to play for a conference championship isn't really a reason to put Texas and Bama above Ohio State.
I do think Texas should be ahead both Bama and Ohio State. And I think there are arguments for Bama being above Ohio State and vice versa. I just don't think the conference championship argument is a good one due to the structure of the conferences and their schedules.
As I said, if the B1G was like the Big 12 with no divisions, Ohio State would be playing for the conference title. But since it's not, Iowa will be playing for it instead.
Yet Ohio State would have a much better chance of beating Michigan than Iowa. That doesn't mean Iowa is better, as they have 2 losses and are clearly not a great team but a team with a solid defense in a terrible division.

They played undefeated #2 on the road. Stupid thread. could FSU stay within 30 of Ohio State ? No

After the Iron Bowl, just be happy you stayed at 8.

The CBS - B1G contract that was signed last year changed the dynamics.
If Michigan wasn't in the B1G they would have already been hit hard for their cheating. Instead, we are seeing a farce where they are directing everything at the coach while the rest of the team is skating without consequences.

Ohio State is a buffer.

Well, the SEC is dogshit outside of UGA and Alabama this year. You could say Alabama lost the one decent game they played.

SEC 6 ranked...5 in top 13
all other pwr 5s have 4 ranked in top 25
The SEC is down narrative, driven by the media, is stupid

Not an Ohio St fan but that was a close loss AT Michigan. Not like they got beat down.

There is a big difference between different blue blood schools.

They lost to a higher ranked team at the time. It makes perfect sense

This committee sucks.
They want to use the "eye test."
It's nonsense but it allows them to ignores quality wins and strength of schedule.
They want the PAC10 to get into the playoff in the final year of the conference so that's going to happen.
They put these mediocre Big 10 teams at the very top year after year even though they get destroyed in the playoffs over and over again.
Texas should be the highest ranked one loss team. Bama should be behind them. Ole Miss should be the highest ranked two loss team.....but, eye test.
It's so stupid.
They are now trying to find a way to leave out an undefeated FSU team. Insane. Eye test.....on the field results be damned.

And Penn State.
These gumps are so entitled. They will make any argument to get “their” playoff spot.

Didn’t Ohio State win on the road against Notre Dame?
So is Thursday the day LSU fans say Notre Dame is a top tier program? The other 6 they go back to a crap program even the best coaches can't win the big one at any longer?

A bunch of Bama fans have complained about expanding the 4 team playoff, but this is the alternative. It is absolutely insane to think that a team who ends up ranked 5th in the final poll should be left out of the playoffs. We have no idea who the best team is and it certainly shouldn't be left up to a committee or the media to decide who wins the title.
