Post Sugar Bowl: Expected 1 Loss
Post hiring Rees and Steele: Expected 2 Losses
Preseason: Expected 1 Loss
Post Texas / USF: Expected 3 Losses
Post Milroe being renamed starter before Ole Miss: Expected 1 Loss

I was right and wrong many times

I predicted 12-0 - though very Very tentatively. Glad we got the win over UT. But those losses were inexplicable. Mississippi State will probably have a better explanation for us in a few years.

I'll admit that my expectations were too high after unexpectedly winning the West last season. I was thinking 10-2 or 11-1 with an opener win over FSU and the Bama game deciding who won the West. What I 100% did NOT expect was for LSU to field a defense reminiscent of the 2008 Big 12. That was...just gross.
In all the years of watching and following LSU football, I've never seen a paper tiger defense like that. It's frustrating to think of the coulda beens - if LSU had been able to field even an average defense, they'd be 12-0, headed to Atlanta, and making 2019's best team ever look like the second-best team ever. A below-average-but-not-terrible defense and they'd probably have been 11-1 looking for Georgia to smoke Bama in Atlanta and jump into the 4th playoff spot. That dropoff has been a bitter pill indeed.

What was your assessment this time last year? Btw I’m a huge Appalachian State fan and by extension a Drink fan

F-
I think I said 9-3 yet here we are at 7-5. This year was a do over of Sherman’s last season with so many blown leads.

Scale 0-100, 93. Expected 9-3/10-2. After Texas & USF, looked more 8-4, but team kept fighting.
Honestly didn't think we'd make it to Atlanta, so anything here on out is gravy afaic. Next year has a chance to be special.

Can LSU get your special teams coach?

I had 10-2 or 11-1 with possible losses @Ole Miss and @ Alabama. Thought we’d split those. Didn’t think we’d lose to Florida St.
Defense had other plans this year.

I predicted 5-7 for HailState
It’s successful because it forced a change - was never a fan of how they hired Arnett

Incomplete. UGA still has a ton to play for.

We are not really good, but we played well at home against two great programs.
We need to stack some talent and build a winning culture.
It was a bad ending to a mediocre season.

I had 8-4 for us (check the preseason prediction thread if you don't believe me). I expected to take a step back this year, and my expectation was matched. I thought we'd lay an egg against Florida, get wiped by a vengeful Bama, and fall against Georgia at home. I also assumed we'd lose one out of the rest of our SEC opponents. I didn't expect our losses would be as severe as they were, but it is what it is and counts all the same at this point.
Defense was abysmal. There's no excuse for it to be so bad. Offense, eh... about what I expected with Milton taking snaps. Our o-line looked weak and our receivers haunted us with butterfingers. The team looked soft all around. If Heupel's serious about winning, he needs to address those issues. Can't have lazy tackling and blocking and expect to beat the best.

My hat is off to you all. Drinkwitz defied all odds. I expected 5-7 or even 4-8 for Mizzou this year. Very impressive season all around that was not far from 12-0. Shaky start, but y'all figured it out as the season progressed and looked very sharp by November.

All told, chance at back-to-back 10 win seasons in first two years of Kelly era is nice.
The 10 win thing only counts if it’s regular season bro. Why do you keep bringing it up when it’s been done via post season?

Ekeler was actually a Grad asst at LSU from 05-07. Pelini brought him with him from OU.
