This isn't a good Bama team, mediocre QB who has looked better against out-manned teams with an average coaching staff. Texas beat us thoroughly. They had an answer or adjustment for everything we did on both sides of the ball. Texas has a better coaching staff than we have. Texas would beat us again.

It seems the narrative that the Tide is a dramatically different team since September is ramping up. I’ve watch a majority of Alabama’s games this fall and I don’t see it. Their defense is still susceptible to solid passing attacks and their run game outside of Milroe looks inconsistent. Texas is still a terrible matchup for them, and I’d bet Texas would win 7 times out of 10 on a neutral field. Even with our long list of injuries, I think we’d handle them.
While we may deserve to get in over Alabama, being highly questionable if they beat Georgia, I do think Alabama is the better team right now.

The interesting thing to me isn't that Alabama fans think they'd win today and thus should be ahead of us in the CFP. They're highly entitled fans, so of course they do. Ignoring head-to-head results flies in the face of common sense, but I get it.
It's that fans of other teams share this opinion even though most of them hate Alabama. It's strange because you'd think they'd want Texas to go instead, given the narrative is that we'd fall flat against whoever we face in the CFP, while Alabama could easily win a title.
If I didn't know any better, I'd say there's some fear that Texas with the SEC patch may actually present a problem pretty soon.

It won’t matter because y’all aren’t better than OU.

I think you’re wrong, but you’re certainly entitled to your opinion. What matters is y’all did win the head to head. The rest is just speculation.

A lot of it is recency bias with Milroe. He's played well against shitty defenses for three straight weeks.
Texas A&M has the #1 defense in the SEC right now. Milroe went into College Station, in front of the most hostile crowd he will likely see this year (Jordan-Hare included), and passed for over 300 yards and 3 TDs.

Alabama beat Georgia 41-24 in the SECCG a couple years ago. Six weeks later they played again and Georgia won 33-18.

And? They weren't competing for the last spot in the playoffs that year.
I'm not arguing that there should never be rematches. I'm saying ignoring head-to-head results when comparing two teams for the last spot is obviously moronic.

Bama would be a 10 pt favorite if they played tomorrow.

Many QBs have lit up the Aggies this season.

SEC defensive coordinators need to deploy more three high safety packages. Thats all they run in the Big12 and it’s the most annoying shite. It basically forces college kids to consistently execute double digit snap scoring drives.
Yeah SEC DCs should take a cue from the Big 12 ‘cause winning national championships is over rated….the real exciting thing to do in CFB is give up 40 points a game and occasionally proclaim you’re back from something you never were after winning a bowl game no one cares about….

I'm afraid not. Texas A&M has the second ranked passing defense in the SEC, giving up just 184 pass yards per game.

Link to all these Alabama fans saying this or are you making shite up?

Goodness, it’s been almost four years. How many rushing yards did yall have that game?

Van Dyke had a career day in Miami vs A&M. He got benched a couple weeks ago.

Fair, I'll give you that. There are a good number of Alabama posters that view head-to-head as the trump card.

Lol thanks for the advice. We'll be sure to take your advice into account, after we remember that your conference as a whole hasn't played defense this century.
I think SEC DCoordinators are going to be okay. They've only won about 75% of the possible national titles since the turn of the century.

5-7 points and no one is really even doubting this point. I don't know who would win a rematch, but we all know who Vegas would pick. What is so interesting is the insecurity and misplaced rage this simple fact causes amongst the UT fans. Do they always lash out at undisputed reality? Are they equally angered when the sun rises or the leaves fall in Autumn?

That still doesn't change the fact that Texas A&M is #2 in the SEC in passing defense and #16 nationally in passing defense.

I dunno. Doesn't really matter. We have to beat somebody better than Texas to give ourselves a shot.
