I really hope the team shows up against Chattanooga and makes a statement.

At this point the committee is looking at how we play each week. The top tier teams keep winning and we need to shine.

Obviously the UGA game is most important, but we need to spank Chattanooga and Auburn.

The way this committee is viewing us so far...they might need to spank georgia also. I just don't understand how oregon is ahead of Bama and texas

I doubt we can make a statement VS Chatt that would impress the committee unless we lay an egg like USF.

The only thing that can happen against a team like Chattanooga is to play bad and get penalized for it. We could beat them 70-0 and the committee won’t care.

the committee is dead set on a pac 12 team in the playoff, so they have to use oregon to prop up washington and have to use washington to prop up oregon

I don’t think anything that happens against Chattanooga matters.

This. Play the starters for a half and hope no one gets hurt and get them out of there. These games are pointless other than money. Might as well have another buy week

All that matters is a W.
We could beat Chattanooga 100-0, but if we follow up and lose to Auburn, that would be infinitely worse than a 1 point win over Chattanooga and Auburn.

Statement game against Chattanooga? You trolling?

This game means nothing no matter how big we win as far as the rankings go.

Let’s just worry about an injury free victory.

Disagree. These games are some of the only games a lot of fans can afford to go to. Ticket prices are low and hotel rooms in T-town are actually available and affordable.

Also these games are important to the players who would otherwise never get on the field. Senior walk-ons finally get the chance to play in front of their families.

And many players on the opposing team who would never otherwise get the chance get to play in an SEC stadium against a team like Alabama make memories they'll always have when their football career ends.

Bama could sleep walk to a 3 score victory with EVERYTHING going wrong.

Just hope they play injury free. Get the starters out. Let the seniors, walk-ons, and youngsters who don't get much playing time get some reps.

Who of the true freshman still have some games left to not burn their RSs?

My hope is Bama is up by 28 early and they pull ALL of the starters out and get the 2nd team guys most of the reps the rest of the way, especially Simpson. Would love to see him get a full two quarters of work.

Late in the 4th, put in the scout team/walk ons.

No injuries and Bama wins by 49 points. That's my realistic hope for the Saturday.

No matter how much Bama is ahead, the starters won't start to get pulled until after the 1st offensive and defensive drive of the 3rd quarter.

Saban is like clockwork with that.

Big question for me is would a win over #1 and undefeated Georgia in the SECCG have the committee jump Bama over Texas if both keep winning. It SHOULD...

Georgia being undefeated when we play is more important than how badly we beat Chattanooga or au...as far as the CFP is concerned.

This team doesn’t have a choice. They can’t sleep walk through anyone if they even want to sniff the playoffs

Alabama needs to use Chattenooga to keep the offense sharp in the first half and hopefully start cycling the depth in by mid-3rd quarter without any injuries.

In terms of rankings no win is going to move the needle until the SECCG.

If Bama wins that game by any margin the worse they could conceivably be would be #5. Oregon and Washington play again, so Bama would be ahead of the loser, Bama would jump UGA, and then the UM/OSU loser would drop behind.

So at that point you could have the UM/OSU winner at #1, then FSU, then Texas, then the UW/Oregon winner, or thereabouts.

I think the committee would consider jumping Bama over Texas and Oregon in that scenario.
