Wrestling is a legit sport, so do other teams start a program? Are they gonna claim more natty’s than others because they are the only ones playing in the one sport?

They’ll compete in another conference in wrestling

Same way it works with only Alabama and Tennessee having rowing. They compete in another conference.

No. Title IX

Doesn't Missouri have a team?

They would put their wrestling program in another conference. Tennessee has atleast 1 sports program in the big 12 because of a lack of SEC programs
Edit: it’s the big 12 and rowing.

Aggies have been looking for a way to add wrestling.

Gamecock M soccer is in CUSA because only like 4 SEC teams have mens soccer.

Fun fact: SC and UK men’s soccer used to be in the CUSA. As of 2022 they both joined the Sun Belt which also includes UCF and WVU.
We actually have an in conference matchup vs Coastal

SEC Wrestling was a casualty of Title IX. They weren't Big 8 or Big 10 levels, but Alabama,Auburn,LSU and Tennessee had some pretty good teams in the 1970's and 80's.

it's called being an "affiliate member" of another conference, so I guess they'll still be an affiliate member of the Big 12

I think Georgia used to have a wrestling team.

Bama and Auburn had wrestling back in the 70s. I assume others SEC schools did too. Can’t really remember. Our high school got a couple of Bama’s old mats when they folded the program. I remember going to a meet at Auburn when Iowa and Dan Gable came to town around the early 80s. Packed arena. It was a happening. Wrestling used to be a big deal even in the south. Would love to see it make a comeback.
