The issue for Sears is he is a scorer but hasn't shown the ability to be a high level passer.

The list of 6'1 and under players in NBA is not super long and those on it are PGs and either are high level passers or elite athleticism

Probably in Bamas interest to keep him around so if I were y'all, I'd be talking all about how he isn't NBA prospect

Dude Brunson is like 6 foot tall. He.. just like Sears get their height exaggerated.

It's amazing how fans play down our players skillet, size, potential, etc all because they want them to stay and not go the the next level.

Sears' game will have to drastically improve to make it successfully in the NBA.

Nope. He measured 6’1 exact barefoot at the 2018 NBA draft combine. Sears measured 5’10.75 at last year’s G-League combine.

LOL. I’m stating exact combine measurements. You’re guessing.

I dont think Sears' defense is ready for the NBA. He wasnt a great defender at this level. He would be a cone at the NBA. But, he probably couldnt put much effort towards the defensive side because we needed him so much on offense.

Still, at his size, he needs to be able to pester ball handlers like Jose Alverado. If he can be a mix between Bronson and Alverado, he will find a spot.

Fair

I have stood next to Brunson and he didn't like 6'1.

It seems like that is how it would be, but it isn't really the case. I just looked at the list of active players 6-foot and under (Sears listed height will probably be 6'0" since they typically list heights in shoes.) Here are the 2 groups that it breaks down into: high level or pesky defenders (Davion Mitchell, Jose Alvarado, Aaron Holiday) and crafty guys who are excellent pull-up shooters (Lowry, Vanvleet, Patty Mills, Chris Paul). There are 3 other fringe guys that I don't know enough about to classify them. Only one on that entire list fits the bill as a high-level passer (Chris Paul) and only one is an elite athlete (Mitchell). Sears fits perfectly in that 2nd group of NBA players.

Will Sears stick in the NBA? I don't know for sure, but I'm done doubting the kid. Yes, he's shorter than Brunson, but people are for some reason acting like he needs to be just as good as him to stick when Brunson is a Top 25 player in the league. Sears is an elite shooter who has shown a lot of craftiness at the rim with excellent finishing numbers (on high volume) for a player of his size.

Thought yall might enjoy this. Hod is doing a great job at asu and it wouldn't surprise me if his team gets ranked next year.

Hodgson tweeted at John Calipari Tuesday afternoon, asking for a matchup between Arkansas and Arkansas State to take place next year.

“@UKCoachCalipari let’s get this game on the books. Give the people what they want! Our dates are wide open! We will make the drive! Welcome to The Natural State. #WolvesUp,” Hodgson posted.

To be fair, I think coach of the year awards are based on the regular season

Doesn't that voting happen before the tournament? Not that it diminishes what he did, but we kind of limped into the NCAAt because of injuries.

I’ll be surprised if he ever gets credit for anything after he masterfully overcame a years worth of non stop media attempts at lies and character assassination.

Respect. Never bow to the mob, Nate.

Hosgson is gonna build Arkansas State into what him and Nate built at Buffalo. I thought he would have been a great “If All else fails” hire at Arkansas. Dude is arguably the best recruiter in America
