Aight, what's the scoop on getting tickets to games? Looking at taking my two kids to the Eastern Kentucky game over Christmas break. Was going to buy off the online market, tickets are cheap ($2-$10) but the fees are more than the tickets lol

You can buy directly from the ticket office or from Coleman the day of the game for that matchup. If you have a Twitter account and are in any of the alabama community groups on there, people will more than likely give you tickets for free to that one.

Any idea what the Mercer game Friday will look like as far as just walking up and buying a couple 15 minutes before tip? I'm taking my oldest son to his first football game this weekend but we are driving over and spending Friday night. I was going to see about going to the basketball game too if we get in in time.

Ticket availability is showing as low but as mentioned above you can probably get tix on the basketball (Twitter/X) space for free. It’s the night before the football game so I’m anticipating the crowd will be light. (Just a guess given the early kick on Saturday)

I don’t think you’d have much trouble at all. Then I’d go find a good open seat close to mid court and enjoy the game.

Herein lies the problem with today’s college basketball. A lot of these freshmen-Parker, Dioubate, Cosby -none of them will see major minutes once the competition picks up. Maybe even Walters as well. A couple of them probably hit the portal after the season. Then you have another set of transfers and freshmen next year. It’s almost if a freshmen isn’t good enough to be a major rotation/impact player from the jump, he’s almost worth not taking. The days of a kid staying 3-4 years and developing as he goes seem to be over. At least at the level we are trying to recruit/play at.

Oats calling out some guys in his press conference. He is not happy at all about the defense.

Sounds like Wague might get the start here soon which I am in favor of

Nate Oats called out freshmen Sam Walters and Davin Cosby for their defensive effort during the Indiana State game. He said newcomers will need to contribute on defense to see the court on this year's team.

Sounds good. Hopefully there will be something left if we get there in time. Even if they're shitty seats live basketball is always fun.

Me too. Seems like he is our best option as a rim protector. Doesn't offer much besides dunking on the other end, but neither did Chuck.

We've pretty much looked like shite whenever they're in the game. Definitely don't look ready to contribute yet.

He's looked pretty bad. Wague looked much better in the second game. That stretch he had vs Indiana St looked promising. WV fans said the Wague was still raw, and Huggy Bear didn't help. They said he'd get pulled after the first mistake, while other guys had a long leash. Oats isn't afraid to let this play through issues. Pulling them too quick will only hurt their confidence, imo. I think we'll see some highs and lows out of the big men.

MoDia looks like a kid who has only shot hoops in his driveway, and his playing on his first actual team. Clumsy, no vision, and just playing a little out of control. He would've been a good RS candidate.

There's no almost. That is 100% the current state of recruiting. There is absolutely no point in signing a player you are not confident will be able to contribute from day 1. Obviously there are going to be misevaluations and what not, but knowingly taking on true projects is a waste of time and resources in the current environment.

Speaking of tickets…is there any way to get the floor seats? They’re never available for sale or on the second hand market. I’m assuming they’re for the big wife’s, but they’re empty on some big games and I’d gladly pay to sit up close even for a bad game.

Check stubhub - there’s a pair for Clemson on the second row of the floor here ($388 each)

As much as I like the kid, right now Pringle seems better suited coming off the bench to give you an energy boost and some fouls.

He's a fun player, but IDK if he's disciplined enough to rely on yet, especially in league play.
