Sources: Auburn defensive backs coach Wesley McGriff is temporarily stepping away from on-field duties for a "personal matter." Tanner Burns is stepping in to fill on-field duties. McGriff is still working with the team daily.

Hokanson said differing philosophies? Sounds like he got into it with another coach.

If that’s true he got into it with a coach and he was in the wrong then I wouldn’t think he would be around the building. Sounds like he will be working normally other than on the field. The way the statement is reads

I believe it to be true, and I also believe he is an old friend of Hugh. He will not be working normally, he will continue to get paid. He will not be recruiting or coaching Not sure what else he is supposed to do.

If true, not a good look. Wonder if Solomon and/or Lewis caught wind of this and it factored into their decommitments? Could be reaching with that, but it's possible.

I also just remembered that Zac Etheridge was coaching safeties. Why not just have him take over CBs as well (he has experience coaching CB) and just let this Burns guy continue coaching hing Special Teams but just on the field?

Kid always wanted to go to. Usce and they finally got the money right.

I doubt Ron Roberts is back next year and I think his replacement is already on staff.

Sounds like Freeze convinced McGriff to stay in an off the field role. Does sound like Roberts might not return and I bet Aldridge replaces him.
