HOLY CRAP. I didn't see the game but I just saw the TD catch. That dude didn't get control of that ball until he was 3 yds out of bounds. There was a Penn State "catch" against Nebraska in 1982 that may have been the only call I've ever seen worse than that. The Rebel fans shouldn't have acted the way they did but my Goodness What were the people in B'ham looking at? If replay is gonna be used like this then just don't bother.

You will learn that the SEC refs are the worst in all of the leagues! In the old Big XII the refs were bought but here is probably both inept and corrupt to the core!!

Was that former BAMA QB David Smith's crew doing the Ole Miss game?

True. Also true is it should’ve been defensive pass interference.

The irony is that ruling it incomplete would have helped us as we could have run more clock before scoring.

The commentators thought it was going to be overturned and I initially thought the same thing. I think the key to understanding the call is that it was initially ruled a TD. The review can only overturn a call if there is indisputable evidence that it was wrong. Determining whether Thomas had control of the ball or not was strictly a judgement call, with no definitive proof one way or another, so the replay official probably felt he couldn't overturn the initial call. If the pass had been ruled incomplete initially, I think that call would have stood as well...for exactly the same reason.

You’re thinking of when Alabama got screwed against Penn State. Preston Gothard caught a TD but was ruled out of bounds.

The refs were trying to help LSU all game but LSU couldn’t stop tripping over their own cock.

I guess you forgot about the 5th down game in 1990 game between Mizzou and Colorado.

If they hadn't given it to him, LSU maybe wins. Burn off enough clock Ole Miss never sees it. OM should've been happy.

In the end, we made it right with a win but we all know the real score was Ole Miss 55 - LSU 42.

Go away loser! Nobody cares what you think. Worry about not losing 4 games this year after Texas embarrassed you at home

the referee was right on the spot watching the ball. he called possession. i think it was an illusion that he didn't have control. He had control up against his body with his hands and as he grabbed it with his hands control was never lost. If it had been called the other way the call probably would have stood, since the ref was right there. they most likely went off his eyes since the replay was inconclusive.
