Man...why did they fire Mullen again?

Firing Mullen, who wasn’t recruiting (well enough), to hire Napier, who can’t coach presents an interesting dichotomy

So Sunbelt Billy has to go 12-0 over next 12 to draw even with Muschamp.

Mullen actually did well there overall.

Ouch, boy that's a slap of reality because we know how bad Muschamp was

Lol. How much of a douche was Mullen to get fired with nearly an identical record to Meyer.

Did Zook not make it to 8 losses?

Florida was stupid to fire Mullen.
He may not recruit well but he was really good at developing 3 star players to the 4 and 5 stars.
That was his formula at MSU.
He likes the ESPN job now though. Doubtful he coaches again after his Florida buyout money.

Mullen wasn't recruiting at all. He was like Harsin except Muschamp left him with a decent roster.
Mullen is very solid X's and O's but you've got to have the players in the SEC.
How can you not get players at Florida?

This is going to draw a lot of hate. So be it. I do believe, and as a Kentucky fan, I know, cultures take time to build and time to break. Although I can not tell you why.
Kentucky, for at least two decades, had a culture of losing. They'd find ways to lose. Stoops hasn't turned them into winners by any means. But he's broke them of being losers. It took ten damn years, and it started before him with Rich Brooks.
Florida has always been a culture of Front Running. They've always played, since Spurrier and re-inforced with Meyer, like a pack of wolves. When things are going well ? Then Florida Fun 'N Guns and runs it up, or Tebow gives a sermon following the game.
When things don't ? They always tend to fall apart in Gainesville. Especially when they're not in Gainesville. That's nothing new, and that's not necessarily because of Billy Napier. That's the Gator Culture.
Best way to beat Florida has always been stay in their face, stay close, and don't let them get on a run. Florida has never been a team that's going to beat you by a field goal each quarter for four quarters on the way to a twelve point win. It's just not their culture.

Sunbelt Billy must be the best salesman we've ever seen. He sold everybody at Florida that his record at UL-L was legit and he deserved a shot with the big boys. Deep down inside though we all knew he was an imposter.

No. Seriously, no.
I don't think Billy Napier had to sell Billy Napier at all. Billy Napier just took the job. Florida sold themselves, just like they've sold themselves ever since Spurrier walked out that door, that they were something different before Spurrier and the next guy would be the next Spurrier.
They were not. Before Spurrier, they were the team that took a flier on the guy that had some wins at Duke. And he delivered. After Spurrier, they were the same team that won a lot with Meyer before he left everything in a burning fire on his way out the door.
Florida is slowly settling back to the mean. Nothing more.

I guess you could argue Napiers results are partially due to Mullens lack of recruiting. That team I saw last night has very little talent
