We'll be better. We return alot of talent and the secondary is running over with depth. When the LBs are healthy, they are second to none. I'd say our only weakness is not having a super-star in the middle of the DLine like Davis was in 2021 and Jalen Carter was last season. They're all talented and experienced. I just don't think we have that one crushing presence at NG. Not sure how that will affect the way they attack Os. Top to bottom this is probably KS's best unit.

Bama defense will be better. If nothing else the play call will get in on time and the guys will know what they are supposed to be doing

Our offense not going 3 and out over and over will help the defense.

That's going to be the real difference. The offense really left the defense behind the 8-ball last year.

LSU will have better numbers, for a multitude of reasons...

Front 7 will be strong. Adding a couple all-conference-level players in Maason Smith DL and Omar Speights LB.

New corners, but they were new last year too, and this pair (Chestnut and Alexander) should be maybe a bit better. Year 2 in the House scheme, so guys who return will be more familiar with the nuances.

And not least of all, the schedule looks to be less challenging. Swap Tennessee out for Missouri, Bama's skill positions are considerably less imposing, no more Air Raid at Miss State, and Achane is gone at A&M. Arkansas (particularly if KJ plays) should be good, but it's at Tiger Stadium, as is Auburn and Fla (2 other teams that should improve).

Better if only due to our 2nd year removed from the stench of Todd Grantham.

UF has a new "Wonder Boy" as DC. He can't do worse than the previous 2. Can he?

We shouldn’t have much drop off. We should actually be better but it’s hard to predict we’ll be better than 2nd in the league. I just always expect them to be close to the top with Brad White developing those guys.

This is what happens when almost your entire starting secondary goes down as well as several key backups. Ended up with 2 walk ons and a Freshman wr starting in the secondary

Better. Likely to be extremely good at all levels. I’m not sure we have a game wrecker like Carter last year but should be very disruptive up front in any case with Williams, Brinson, etc. Linebacker and secondary are elite.

If we can get a big jump out of Marvin Jones or someone else off the edge the defense could get into 2021 territory imo.

Hard to say. Secondary is questionable but front 7 especially LBs will be good.

QB in the SEC will be weak this year so that may hide the secondary issues some if we can get pressure on young QBs.

I’ll say about the same

Better against the run - because we can’t get any worse.

Worse against the pass because we were pretty damn good last year but lost key players.

Better overall.
