The University of Texas is known as one of the most arrogant schools in America and that is a rightfully earned reputation.
Back in 2019 when we were there for LSUs game against them we were enjoying a nice tailgate in a crowded area. We sort of meshed in with some Texas students/fans and were having a great time. After a while I asked them if they were coming to the game in Baton Rouge next year. They looked completely perplexed and I asked them why and they said they had no idea they’d have to come to Baton Rouge the following year. You could tell they were thinking this was similar to Rice coming to Texas, that it was an honor for us to be here or something. Never occurred to them LSU is it’s own proud institution that wouldn’t come to Texas without the expectation of a return trip.
We (the LSU fans) had a really good laugh about that after the game.

Were the Texas fans wrong? I don’t recall a return trip.
They weren’t clueless, just ahead of the times.

So a lack of knowledge equals arrogance? Got it.
I am still waiting to see how Texas is more arrogant than many SEC teams. I don't know if you have been paying attention, but there has been plenty of that to go around before Texas fans started hanging out here.
And maybe they are the most arrogant, I don't know. I just don't think there is much difference in how arrogant they are compared to quite a few SEC fans.

Been to a lot of A&M games at DKR. However nothing comes close to Bama fans on our first trip to Tuscaloosa after joining the SEC. nothing beats the arrogance that was on display that morning at the Bryant museum and during the tailgate. Absolutely nothing.
The phrase that sticks out the most before the game...
"Y'all about to find out" followed by a bunch of snickering people in Bama gear.
Yep.... we found out all right. Booooom! Down goes number 1.

I love that their reaction touched such a nerve with you that you started a thread about it 4 years later.

Once you guys get to know Texas fans you will still prefer them over Aggies.

Was strolling across TU's campus when I saw some males, I can't call them men, standing around licking dildos.
Deciding to be friendly, I walked over and offered my H&K USP .40 caliber for them to lick.
Those bastards acted like they were too good to have a lick. I had jam the barrel down one of them's throat and cock the hammer back. They all decided right then and there that they wanted to take a lick.
The fact I had to beg them to join their party, shows a complete arrogance and contempt towards visitors.

SavageOrangeJug is clearly overcompensating for something. What could it be?

I came here hoping to see all the Texas ignorance hot takes all compiled to one thread instead of being spewed all over the board.
(IE: Longhorn network is greater than the SEC; Texas should break away from the US dur-dur)
What a disappointment

Think if we could get California, New York, and Texas to all break away.

Careful, all those NY, CA, and TX tax dollars redirected to shore up the southern welfare crowd would vanish in the scenario.

My state has a budget surplus. California stays in a state of financial crisis. Guess whose tax follars bail them out?

Your state has a $56.2 Billion Operating Budget while taking nearly $100 Billion in Federal Spending. Now about 1/3rd of that is Social Security payments, which I think are fair as people withold and pay into the system. Still, The Vols along with everyone else suck of the government teet to a degree that any discussion of kicking this or that state out would just cause a house of cards to collapse.
Your state revenues are boosted by Federal spending by the way. 1/5th of Tenn state revenue is due to Fed spending. We all suck at this . . .all 50 states.

You can’t really blame anyone for not wanting to go to Baton Rouge. Some people value their life and don’t want to die

Not really. For every dollar that Texas sends to D.C., only $0.94 comes back. We help prop up LA and MS.

I find these stories lacking.
We Texas fans need to work on our arrogance.

Oh, there's still alot of arrogance amongst your fanbase. Heck, there's still some on this board who still love to brag about that win over UGA in the Sugar bowl. You know...that one that took place in the Roman coliseum around 100 BC?
