Heck of an addition for Texas. Bonafide stud off the Edge and from a power house HS program that plays great competition. Nice get Horns.

Agree with this. He looks like an amazing player. Congrats on the huge pickup.

This isn't 2011. Players get paid to stay on the roster.

NFL still pays more, and a sure way to get drafted is to play for a program with a track record of drafting players, like LSU.

Just for laughs, this is from the Alabama On3 board and that douchebag Watts.

From random fan:
quote:

I wish his recruitment wasn’t based on NIL because I think we would have been a major player for him. I was happy he isn’t going to lsu and then I realized we will be playing Texas in the sec in the future.

From Watts:
quote:

As we reported after his official visit UA removed themselves from the Simmons recruitment. I don't think there was much chance he would have ended up in Tuscaloosa.
It's incredible how Alabama simply "Removes themselves" from recruiting battles instead of losing them. Like it's impossible that Simmons visited Alabama and didn't like it. He begged to play there but the good ole boys in T-town would never play that dirty recruiting game.

Our writers and UGA's writers are huge homers because big chunks of both fanbases can't handle bad news

Woah it's crazy how these 2 recruits said almost exactly what I said?

I've noticed it so much with Watts and the former Bama guy who's now with Texas, because we've had so many head to head battles.

Feel like UGA insiders are similar to Texas insiders where they're the favorite for every single recruit.

I think you can also write off any insider picks on 5 stars from now on.

5 stars aren't recruited so much as auctioned.

That's one first rounder in the last 8 drafts.
Actually it's one first rounder in the last 1 draft. But I'm sure the NFL draft in 2016 was far more relevant to current recruits than last year's...
quote:

The same can be said for Georgia. Georgia was a perrenial contender but just could not get over the hump. Georgia spends more on recruiting than anyone in college football. They were averaging over 10 wins per season under Richt. They then went out and hired a guy who was the defensive coordinator for 4 national titles under Saban. Kirby was also dropping eggreigous bags let's not misunderstand that.
If only Texas' head coach was a coordinator for Saban on a national championship team. One can only wonder though...
quote:

It's not "other schools". It's very specific programs. When LSU loses a player to Alabama or Georgia, I'm not going to complain about the kid getting a bag. It may be true, but that kid wanted to go play for Nick Saban or Kirby Smart.

When a kid commits and the first comments out of his mouth are "i want to provide for my family and Texas gave me the best opportunty to do that" we all know what he's saying.
Sure we do! Texas had more first round draft picks than LSU in the last NFL draft, so I guess he sees earning potential in the future
quote:

LSU is also paying kids, but it's rare that that's the only reason a kid will go to LSU (or Georgia, Alabama, OSU, etc).
So every kid that goes to Texas ever is only about the money? They couldn't be from the state and stay close to home? They couldn't have grown up as fans of the program? They couldn't have seen a course curriculum they liked more at one school than the other?

Your doubling down on "Texas only won because they had more money! " is kind of proving my point on the sour grapes...
quote:

If I was trolling I would make some weird dildo joke or talk about how your head coach is an alcoholic, hitched his wagon to a 5 star name to be the future of his program (even though he never made it out of the second round of the 2A playoffs in Louisiana, despite starting for 4 years and having multiple SEC players on his team each year), has never won 10 games in his 9 seasons as a head coach, and will likely be out of a job in 2 years, so I can just wait on Colin to enter the portal prior to 2025, but I'm going to be the bigger man and not say any of that.
I commend you on your admirable attempt at not trolling.

Laugh at fanbases like a&m for attempting to talk down to them as they lose to teams like App State?

That's exactly what Texas did last year...

Can you not read between the line?
$immons said show me the money and Texas has the highest offer.

That is what it is. Why are you upset with the fact that $immons committed to Texas because they gave him the most money?

All of those schools have a ton to offer recruits. A legit chance at a national championship isn’t one of those things though.
They don't have a legitimate chance? Last I checked those schools have the same record as other the others you deem as having a "legitimate chance" before the season starts.

I'm sure you were saying the same about Alabama's 2008 recruiting class several months after they lost to UL Monroe at home or Georgia's 2018 recruiting class several months after they lost to Vanderbilt at home.

My god the salt in this thread. Can't believe we're almost at 100 replies

Yea, show me the money as in "who's better and putting players in the first round lately?" ;)

Could you not read my post you just replied to?

The fact you think Texas belongs in a conversation with Alabama and Georgia.

Texas struggles to beat Kansas on a yearly bases
