Yes, but is he going to backstab Jimbo at the first possible juncture? Also yes.

He is probably the best play caller, but most despicable person. High highs, also crash and burns.

My personal belief, you will win a bunch of games and he will be working behind the scenes to get rid of Jimbo, which will lead to him being removed quickly as soon as the season is over.

He hasn’t. He does more with less. But there is a good chance he will turn the coaching staff into a tire fire.

They don't miss his personality.

Stories of him treating people poorly outside of football are well known.

He would have still been here had he been sincere but never was.

If Jumbo leaves BP alone and lets him coach, Aggie will win a natty is less than three years.

Caveat, Bobby needs a young side piece as well

If Bobby is there in 3 years, Jimbo won’t be. Bobby is gone after this year.

The weight of embarrassment from the crash took some wind out of his sails.

You can only carry so much baggage before it becomes too heavy. He wasn't the same after the crash.

This is why he tried so hard to keep it a secret.

Define success. If it means putting up massive chunks of yardage and scoring points, then yes... assuming Dumbo stays out of his way, the numbers will come.

He completely ignored the defense as HC, so only having the Offense should produce stats.

There will be one open, but he will be gone if any P5 school has an opening and wants to deal with him.

But he will be gone if any G5 school wants to deal with him for a good contract too.

First year of petrino we didnt make a bowl game. Second year barely made a bowl third year we were good but still lost to both the bama teams. Hes never shown instant success, but if you give him time he should be ok

i tend to agree. hes at A&M less than 3 yrs. either revamps the offense and gets a HC gig in short order, or him and jimbo crash and burn pretty quickly and theyre both gone.

Do you think Petrino will be a successful OC as long as Jimbo stays out of the kitchen?

Yes, you just have to make sure someone picks up the slack in recruiting which doesn't seem to be an issue for Jimbo

What is your take on Bobby saying yesterday he’s been trying to come back to the SEC, he missed it. Is that true?? He was blacklisted forever

He has history with this team. There is a great story about him recruiting Maurice Smith (former Bama & Georgia player) to Louisville. Well Maurice remembers putting his baby brother on the phone, Ainias Smith (current Aggie), to grill Petrino. Petrino ate it up and did his best to recruit Ainias over. The Smith parents said it was a big reason Ainias came back to A&M for his last year. There was trust in Petrino he had won over years ago. Apparently Petrino is good with kids. Who would have ever thought that?
