Apparently, there is a consensus amongst SEC fans that Hugh Freeze is an incredibly talented, top tier coach who just made a few mistakes.

I just don't get where this is coming from.

Instead of the fantasy, let's look at reality.

He has a career win percentage of 61%

People praise him for what he did at Ole Miss, when in reality, he used prostitutes to lure in recruits, he utilized the up-tempo HUNH RPO offense, which at the time was giving defenses fits by taking advantage of college rules.
All of this, just to have Ole Miss at the same level it was with prior head coach Houston Nutt. 8-9 wins a season.

Then he goes on a sabbatical to Liberty, goes 34-16 (.680) over 4 seasons, and then gets an incredible, inexplicable opportunity to return to the SEC.
Lane Kiffin had FAR more success in his stint at FAU, for example.

Just wondering why a coach who won 68% of his games at Liberty is now the darling of the SEC. The prodigal son returns. Everyone expects greatness. Why?

You aren’t just what your record says. Talent matters. Winning 6 games with Vanderbilt is a more impressive coaching performance than winning 10 at Bama. Doing what he did at Ole Miss was impressive. Other than Freeze who’s the last coach to beat Saban twice in a row?

He did the same as Houston Nutt, and then got reprimanded for cheating...

Impressive?

He had pretty good success at schools who hadn’t been at that level in awhile. I wouldn’t say he’s a great coach like Saban, Kelly, Smart, but he’s in the next tier. Hoping Auburn improves, I think college football in the South is more fun when AU is good and can scare Bama consistently

Saban had a 57% win percentage at Michigan State. He does not deserve the LSU job. He can't recruit in the South either.

If Lane Kiffin went to coach at Liberty, they'd win the conference every single year instead of going 8-5. Hugh Freeze is overrated af

First off, if losing one recruit is bothering you this bad, seek help. Second, “darling of the SEC”??

I think the fact that he owns Bama is what inspired this thread.

Hugh Freeze and auburn are trash, but bama been cheating and doing shady shite from the beginning, so you may want to sweep around your porch first.

Do you honestly believe that he was unique in his cheating?

Absolutely. A lot of programs were doing stuff under the table, but a prostitution ring?

This is the sole reason he was hired if we're being honest. But wasn't Gus Malzahn pretty good at beating Bama? Aub should've never let him go

Is there any evidence that the prostitutes weren’t just for his personal use?
