Freeze ain't anything close to the GOAT and had a losing record to Bert.

Are you really comparing LSU and Memphis?

No I’m comparing Hugh Freeze leading a team in a loss to a less talented roster than his own to Nick Saban doing the same.

Maybe Auburn should've considered getting Big Bert

Hugh Freeze is what he is - a mediocre coach who's built for 8-9 wins a season. To expect anything better than Gus Malzahn is delusional

Gus was great before the rule changes. He couldn't adapt. Freeze has adjusted just fine.

Bert gave Saban some tough games in his tenure. Bert isn’t a bad coach and I think his offensive and defensive strategies mismatched what Hugh preferred at Ole Miss.

As clearly evidenced by going 8-5 over and over again in the Conference USA

Except there's no shame in losing by 1 point on the road to the 8th most talented team. Vs getting roflcoptered by an AAC team at a "neutral" site.

Hoping Auburn improves, I think college football in the South is more fun when AU is good and can scare Bama consistently

This aspect of Auburn football has not dropped off…. We’re still basically scaring them at the same usual pace:

2009- AU led with 2 minutes to play
2010- AU win
2013- AU win
2014- AU led in 4th Q
2017- AU win
2019- AU win
2021- AU led with 1 minute to play, 4 OT

Continues to average out to a close game every other season.

I didn’t even know that they played football until it was announced he was being hired by them.

Auburn would hire Judas Iscariot if it would help beat Bama. Like an alcoholic needs a drink, a sex junkie needs a hit. It might be a year or two but the rev will go back to his old ways.

You realize Saban tried to hire Freeze too, you fricking idiot?
And speaking of alcoholics and drinks, I guess you don’t remember hiring Sark either.

what were they ranked for one week?

They were going to bowl games before he got there. He took a 6-win per year program and made them an 8-win per year program. amazing.
It's the freakin conference USA.

Lane Kiffin on the other hand, went to FAU and DOMINATED the same conference.
