Nick Saban pushes for players to 'unionize,' has 'no problem' with athletes being paid as employees
quote:
"I have no problem," Saban said, via CBS Sports. "I mean, unionize it. Make it like the NFL. It's going to be the same for everyone. I think that's better than what we have now."
"Everything they do in the NFL is to create what? Parity," Saban said. "If they can have everybody going into the 17th week of the season 8-8, that would be like a dream for the NFL. You think there is disparity right now in college football? There's going to be more in the future."

Really throwing the grenade in the room on his way out of the door isn’t he?

Who is the employer? The athletic dept? The university? The conference? The NCAA?

He’s right. The players should unionize. The NIL collective stuff with transfers is going to be such a legal headache. The players need to negotiate terms on how these things work with schools.

College football died the day James Meredith enrolled at Ole Miss. Everything since then is just more salt in the wound.

He’s good with it as long as they don’t have to play Auburn, Tennessee, LSU every year. That just wouldn’t be fair to the players.

Saban has lost control over college football

I agree with Nick Saban, players need to unionize because a strong union is the best way to look after the player's/workers' interests.

And that is why Saban ran away from the NFL. Couldn’t have better talent than everyone else.
Getting too old to know what he wants

That's exactly what I'd expect from a cocksucker.

He's perfectly OK when Bama was the standard.

Of course he is. He's trying to get it all back, somehow, to where he can show a better benefits package. If every ball player makes X dollars a month, its no different than every ball player making zero dollars a month.
And then Nick can go back to selling the pathway to the pros, better other benefits, blah blah blah. This is so obvious it really kinda' irks me that some people fall for it.
Of course Saint Nick wants the ball-players to Unionize. Because he's not built to negotiate with 85 different consumers. That's not the message Nick sells.
