couldn't you conversely say that fans who think baseball is a big deal tend to be fans of schools that have a lot of success at said sport?

Look, I'm just happy we have current events to discuss instead of the usual boring offseason shite.

It’s probably the purest of all of the college sports. It should be a lot more popular than it is.

It’s not that it’s not a great sport. It’s not that it’s not an exciting sport. It’s not that it’s not entertaining.

It’s that it LOSES MONEY FOR 291 Div 1 baseball teams.

If it was a major spurt then the TV deals would value them more, they don’t. Of the 91 SEC games in regular season and sec tourney.. you know how many were on ESPN/ESPN2? 8.. all on ESPN2. ZERO on ESPN. The OCHO/ ESPNU carried 11 more.. the rest was in SECN. That tells you right there it’s a minor sport.

Look at the Cap One cup.. do you get the same points as you do for Football and Basketball.. yes! But so does Lax, Soccer, and FCS football.

Baseball Is a major sport for LSU and a few others. Just Like Hickey is for the Ivys, and Soccer and Lax is for the ACC. But Nationally it’s just a minor college sport..

You need more proof.. go to ESPN.com right now.. is there a special tab for baseball like CFB or NCAAM or NCAAW.. ABSOLUTELY Not.. there is a college sports tab.. and that’s where you find the info for WORLD SERIES OF COLLEGE BASEBALL.. right above.. college hockey.. I mean dang F1 and the XFl have their own tab..

It was a minor sport when uga won it all, and when uga made the CWS 4/8 years, and it is also a minor sport when uga sucks.

By the same token you do realize that the only people who do care about college baseball are those whose teams are any good. That means 4-5 teams fans.

And it was several LSU fans that was telling Georgia fans to stop posting about football, so what does that say?

My team was in the CWS but it’s still a minor sport? All college sports outside of football and men’s basketball are minor sports.

It's the only college sport (that matters) where the greatest prospects in the sport don't even want to participate in college, so you're getting second class talent.

Sure some guys are MLB level and some develop to MLB level, but it's the exception and not the rule.

"Why don't ESPN put on more dat college baseball?!" Because no one gives a shite out side of 2 weeks in June because there is literally no other sports on.

It's third right behind men's basketball imo.

Baseball is a great sport though. I played my entire life and had D1 offers as a pitcher. Most people who never played don't really have a clue about how intricate of a sport it is.

College baseball? Yes, it is minor and is much closer to women's gymnastics than college basketball. It is so popular that it actually holds the championship event after students go home for the summer or graduate.

To see any team sports excellence at a the collegiate level is a pleasure. LSU baseball has a baseball culture that only 5/6 other schools can really comprehend. So who cares? Let them sit home and thumb through their preseason football guides ( LSU is going to win that too ) and we can celebrate this amazing thing we have that binds us together and they can go chirp chirp on the inter webs.
