No one!

That is all.

I don't even think about it, ever. Just wanted to make that clear.

I don't fear it.

I didn't fear it when they cracked my chest open this past December.

But getting old is not for pussies. I've had 18 broken bones in my life from rough-housing, a few major surgeries here and there ... it's fast catching up to me. It's painful sometimes.

I don't fear growing old and dying, I am trying to mitigate pain and stay active. Not looking forward to having to use a cane or walker and wearing a diaper but ... phuq-it. Will probably have to have a knee, hip and ankle replaced in the next 24 months or so.

I want to make sure that I leave my wife and kids and grandkids in good shape.

I'm not fapping as much as I used-to. I'm down to once a day or so, depending upon if I get lucky with the wife.

Hey scrooster, I was just making a joke about the "No one fears Texas and Oklahoma" thread. I'm right there with you. More than 20 broken bones here, including all the major ones. Keep on keeping on my friend, and try to knock one out at least a few times a week.

I do not fear death. I had been dead for billions and billions of years before I was born, and had not suffered the slightest inconvenience from it. - Twain

Excellent quote

Death is nothing to us, since when we are, it has not come and when death has come, we are not. - Epicurus.

And another good Mark Twain quote.

"I've had a great many troubles in my life. Most of which never happened. - Mark Twain"

This is about 2019 isn't it?

Seriously, I'm close to the same age and I get it.

Unless you know what is after this life how would you not fear it?

Let's look at the trend by average winning percentage by decade.

2020s - .577
2010s - .550
2000s - .852
1990s - .618
1980s - .623
1970s - .769
1960s - .801
1950s - .818
1940s - .776
1930s - .501
1920s - .759
1910s - .776
1900s - .692

So, the worst 5 decades in order would be:

1. 1930s
2. 2010s
3. 2020s

4. 1990s
5. 1980s

So...2 of the worst 3 decades of football in Longhorn history have been the last two. You've had 3 8+ win seasons since Mack Brown left a decade ago. 7 of your last 8 bowl appearances have been the Alamo Bowl or the Texas Bowl. I agree with you...things appear to be trending up.

I've only broken around 15 bones but I've had 7 surgeries. I'm age 50 now and need 4 more. I'm actually relieved to hear others who are in the same boat. I was beginning to think that I'm one of the only ones who had little regard for my body growing up.

When you get old enough, you know your days are numbered. Some figure this out before others.
