Always exceptions, but if you're serious about winning, experience works more often than frosh talent.
The best teams almost always have a blend of quality upperclassmen and young NBA prospects.

Ah yes, I guess talent was the reason Kentucky lost to St. Peter’s.

How many freshmen are on the Bama team?

The best teams are heavily veteran led, with sure a frosh thrown in there. But since 2015 a frosh hasn't been the main focus on a Championship winning team. It may go back even further than 2015. I'm in no way saying you cant win with a lot of freshman, I'm saying you're more likely to win with veteran players.

Was 2015 Duke the last national champ to be lead by a one-and-done freshman?

Yep - and Grayson Allen was their top scorer as a sophomore.
Not to mention they were a 4 seed that went 11-7 in the ACC that year and then got hot.

I think they could make a pretty deep run in the NIT

This. Adding Rajon Rondo to staff next season will at least help along with Tyler Ulis for the guard development.

It'll go like this ...
November / December ... "We're young, and they're not robots. Kentucky isn't for everybody. But I like my team."
January / February ... "You know, such and such and so and so need more minutes."
March ... "Wait until next year."

Crap ... I forgot about "the tweak". There's always a tweak with Calipari.

At least he'll probably actually win an NCAA tourney game. Will be the first one in a few years.
Doubtful.

You left out the part in February where he disowns them and claims his team would win

My daughter is a freshman at Duke. I’ve watched every game. None of those guys are NBA ready and will likely return next year.

Not all recruiting classes are created equal

That can be the case but you're not finding any lottery picks in the transfer portal.

Not true. NBA drafts of potential. Ready or not…they’re gone.
