BIRMINGHAM, Alabama (February 9, 2023) - Southeastern Conference Commissioner Greg Sankey on Thursday announced that $721.8 million of total revenue was divided among the SEC's 14 universities for the 2021-22 fiscal year, which ended August 31, 2022.
The total includes $698.5 million distributed directly from the conference office, as well as $23.3 million retained by universities that participated in 2021-22 football bowl games to offset travel and other related bowl expenses.
The amount distributed from the conference office, excluding bowl expenses retained by participants, averaged $49.9 million per school.

New deal hasn't kicked in. This is still counting the low-ball CBS deal.

Forget P5. We are well on our way to a P2 setup. The SEC, the Big 10, and then the rest of the gang trotting along behind.

Then you realize how little the Pac-12 is going to get with their new deal.

Well yeah. It's about TV ratings. Bama is the most-watched CFB program on TV.

If you knew what you were talking about, you would be VERY glad. The addition of A&M & MU was a significant jump start to the revenue sharing enjoyed today by the conference.
Enter Texas A&M and Missouri which officially joined the conference five years ago last Saturday. The SEC pounced on the Big 12's dysfunction to add two large TV markets that would pave the way for the most successful television network launch in cable history. From revenue alone, the SEC's decision to add two schools has proven to be a brilliant decision. In the year before the expansion, the SEC distributed $248.1 million, good for $19.5 million per school. Compare that to the SEC's 2016 distribution when it shipped out $565.9 million or $40.4 million per school.
The 5-year impact of Texas A&M, Missouri joining the SEC
