For Weagle25's sake are you saying we are missing because our NIL is not as stout as let's say FSU or Ole Miss and others?

After Carter and Shaw we’re not in on many big names.

FWIW, that’s kind of everybody right now. Scroll through the top 250 on 247 and there’s very few uncommitted guys. I hadn’t really noticed that until this week.

Meanwhile, according to the 247 team rankings which use the composite rankings, Auburn has only 2 3*’s.

The teams ahead of us have 5, 6, 8, 8, 7, and 10 3*’s.

I would agree with you that we have our work cut out for us in regards to making the top 10. However, I input 5 random 3*’s with Carter and Shaw and quickly got us to #5. If everyone else is limited on top 250 guys they can bring aboard, just like Auburn, then we may very well sneak right up there

Keef Kneebur believes Auburn will fall in the 8-9 spot in recruiting when the dust settles.

I was doing the same thing and getting us in about the 270-272 range (sounds like you were coming up with a similar score). I compared it to last years team rankings instead though. That score would have had us in the 13-14 range on the team rankings.

But like you said there’s only I think like 18 uncommitted top 250 guys. So not sure how other teams really pass us that much.

Edit: looks like that same score would have had us in 8th in 2022. 9th in 2021. 10th in 2020.

Is anyone taking into account the flips Hugh can make through season and showing a good product on the field? Heck, he was hired Nov 29th and early signing day was Dec 21st last year and he took us from 50-60 range to inside top 20 (credit Lac/Zac et al to holding it together for the interim). I wouldn't say top 10 is anywhere close to being off the table with it still being August.

How would you take into account flips that we know nothing about at this point? Do I need to account for the potential that someone we have committed could flip?

It’s a projection based on what we know right now.

There will be many players that move up and down the players list for the recruiting services over their senior years. Some kids will get injured some won’t perform some will come out of no where to be stars.

This staff appears to find kids quickly and they a quick to move if they feel like they are out of it for someone.

I expect us to get to somewhere around 23-24 players. Putting us anywhere from 6-10 in the final rankings depending on the quality of the players.

I expect us to also get 7-10 transfers depending on who transfers from the team as well.

JLee with an update on Patterson. Believes for a while it was an Auburn-Michigan-Miami battle, but it has now narrowed to an Auburn-Miami battle. Thinks it will be tough to pull him Miami being that he lives in Hollywood, FL but that the staff is making it a legit battle. Also adds the caveat that a lot can change very quickly these days.

FSU mods say they lead and then Jlee doesn’t even mention them. Seems weird

On3 “recruiting machine” also says 58% Miami 37% FSU

If FSU lands him and Jlee doesn’t even have them as a finalist then I don’t want to see another word he posts on this board..

He said he’s seen other people posting FSU buzz but isn’t hearing it from his people so he’s sticking to what his sources are saying.

The prediction machine thing is a joke.

Agreed, but that’s why he adds the little caveat at the end now.

Things can change quickly and although I agree in the new NIL era it’s going to be more true than not, but still.

Well I just saw a recent article that was titled “can Michigan beat out FSU for Zaquan Patterson?”

So trusting his guys while passively mentioning FSU is a bold take.
