I don’t think AU is pushing for him. Probably Notre Dame at this point

To your point Corch, Pink said he spoke with him and it seemed like Notre Dame.

But his last official is to Auburn and he decides soon after. Maybe a neck check, Thats where you make certain things (your mind) is working from the neck up when your heart is set of something. In other words maybe it is Notre Dame but he just wants to see Ohio State and Auburn to be sure.

5* Bama commit S Jaylen Mbakwe will OV this weekend per Pink via KN interview.

Quotes:
quote:

“I get there Saturday,” Mbakwe said. “The whole family, mom, dad, sister and brother.”

quote:

Several Auburn coaches have been consistent with Mbakwe over the course of the winter and spring months.

“Actually coach (Zac) Etheridge, Coach (Wesley) McGriff, Coach (Hugh) Freeze, T-Reed (Trovon Reed), guys like that,” Mbakwe said.

quote:

What does Mbakwe want to see on his Auburn official visit?

“Just the atmosphere, see how things have changed with the coaches, and things like that,” Mbakwe said.

Freeze is heavily involved and helped setup the OV.

quote:

“I talked to him to set up my OV,” Mbakwe said. “It just tells me he is very involved, really wants me, wants a great kid out of the state of Alabama.”

quote:

What does Auburn need to do to have a legitimate shot at flipping him from Alabama?

“I mean, just show me how the players bond together, how everything has changed and stuff like that,” Mbakwe said.

quote:

Mbakwe says he will be open to Auburn while staying firmly committed to Alabama.

“Yes sir, going in with an open mind,” Mbakwe said. “Obviously Bama told me to take all of my official visits, so just going in with an open mind, seeing what the plan is.”

quote:

Is Alabama worried about Auburn or any other school?

“I could say they are not, it will be hard to get me to flip to anywhere else,” Mbakwe said. “Just how I’ve bonded and how my heart is set to where Alabama is with me right now, and my mom loves the place.”

quote:

How solid is Mbakwe to Alabama?

“100 percent,” he said.

quote:

How hard will it be to flip him from Alabama on a scale of 1-10?

“Maybe like 7 and a half, 8 maybe,” Mbakwe said.

KJ Bolden quotes:
quote:

“Auburn is definitely in it,” Bolden told Niebuhr. “I definitely like Auburn. When I went up there during spring, I didn’t think I would like it because I had never been up there. They had always recruited me since sophomore year, I kind of never took them serious.”

quote:

When a family member told him to give Auburn another try, Bolden listened and was glad he did.

“One of my cousins told me that I should definitely give it a try,” Bolden said. “The way they made me feel loved and at home, I definitely feel like Auburn is one of my top five schools right now.”

quote:

According to Bolden, Tigers’ coach Hugh Freeze is staying active with him.

“He’s definitely active,” Bolden said. “Every time I go up there, he makes sure he sees me as soon as I get there. He’s always like ‘Where’s KJ, how’s my KJ doing,’ he stays on top of it.”

quote:

“Oh it just tells me that I’m definitely one of the top guys over there for sure,” Bolden said. “They show me that they want me a lot.”

quote:

What is Freeze’s main message to Bolden?

“Coach Freeze told me when he was at Ole Miss, he brought in that one class with Laremy Tunsil and all of those guys,” Bolden said. “He brought all of those guys in. Laquon Treadwell, Tunsil, Robert Nkemdiche. They had that class and upset Bama. That’s really all you have to do is just build a class and go take over the SEC.”

quote:

“For Auburn, yes, September 22,” Bolden said. “He wanted the last official, Coach Freeze.”

Why the last visit for Freeze?

“I guess he felt like the last official, the winner takes it home,” Bolden said. “So the last official, you already know what the other schools offered, so you can up that price and offer better stuff than the other schools. NIL, I’m talking about playing time, schemes and all of that stuff.”

quote:

What does Bolden need to see during his Auburn official visit?

“I’m definitely going to need to see how the players are getting coached, how everybody in the facility interacts with each other, how the environment is–and it is definitely not a bad environment from me being down there,” Bolden said. “Seeing the scheme and the playing situation and making sure everything is situated down there”

quote:

Bolden is familiar with a few guys on Auburn’s team from the Atlanta area.

“I know some guys from Atlanta that went over there,” Bolden said. “Terrance Love, he was talking about how Auburn recruited him the same way since 10th grade. They’re always going to stay hard on you, they’re never going to stop recruiting you. He said once you commit to Auburn they’re going to make sure, and up their recruitment of you.”

quote:

Will Auburn’s record matter during Freeze’s first year?

“No, I don’t really base it off of the records and stuff like that,” Bolden said. “I know it’s Coach Freeze’s first year being there so they won’t be like 10-2 or 10-1 something crazy. He’s got to bring his own class. I’m looking at it for sure, but it won’t play like a big role.”

quote:

When might a commitment decision happen?

“Probably September or after my June officials,” Bolden said.

Sterling Dixon quotes:
quote:

“it will be super hard (to flip me),” Dixon told On3’s Keith Niebuhr. “LSU and Auburn are doing a great job. Those are two programs that I’ll definitely be considering. Probably about 95 percent (committed to Alabama). I really appreciate those guys for recruiting me. I’m still keeping my recruitment open.”

quote:

Auburn linebackers coach Josh Aldridge is in heavy pursuit on Dixon.

“Me and Coach Aldridge just got off the phone right before I got here,” he said for the On3 NIL Elite Series on Tuesday. “It’s definitely a great connection. Me and him have been talking every day. He’s a great guy. I can’t say anything bad about him. I appreciate everything that he is doing.

“They are talking to me every day, trying to show me the most attention. Them and LSU both are recruiting me pretty hard. They are definitely giving me something to think about and I appreciate it.”

quote:

Dixon said LSU is recruiting him harder than both Alabama and Auburn.

“I’d say LSU,” he told Niebuhr. “They are calling me every day. (LSU DC) Coach (Matt) House is a great person. He’s definitely genuine. I talk to him every day and like how he uses Harold Perkins. I feel like he can develop me and I really appreciate him.”

quote:

What is he looking for in a program? One key is early playing time.

“Me getting on the field as fast as possible,” he said. “That’s been a dream of mine to be a freshman All-American and a consensus All-American. I feel I can bring that to the table. I’ve been working hard for it, so I just want to go and see how I would be used, make sure they have an obvious plan for me and just look at the depth chart.”

quote:

Auburn isn’t giving up.

“Definitely just the new coaching staff that they put together. Definitely love them,” he said. “They talk to me every day. I don’t have anything bad to say about them. My cousin is Robert Woodyard and he keeps me updated.”

Only OV scheduled so far is Bama June 16-18. Will also visit Auburn, LSU, and Miami.

Will be an EE and plans to be finished with his recruitment by the first half of his Sr year

A lot of the recruiting guys seem to think he flips, but his comments never leave me feeling good. Where’s does the optimism come from?

Clemente put out a mock class and at WR he has Coleman, Malcolm Simmons, and Bryce Cain. He doesn't think Thompson will be in our class ATM

I think Thompson is just using us for more rec money, but this list....we can recruit out of state, just kidding.

So we take Coleman hopefully and then.....Ryan Williams does move into class of 2024 and we shock and awe with a signing....Yeah thats the ticket, yeah.

I think our recruiting reporters are scarred by the last 4 or 5 years of Auburn recruiting. They seem to expect Hugh to recruit 2024 at about the same level as prime Gus. That would be an improvement, but I want and expect more.

I think somewhere in the 7-12 range is realistic for this class, but with better roster management than what Gus' had.

I agree anything below 12 would be a disappointment considering we will have roster turnover from the grad transfers. Plus we probably lose some of the Harsin signed guys if they are passed over during the season.

So I expect about 22-23 signees and about 12-14 transfers for the 24 season.

For this season a lot depends on the big money donors do they want to dominate the NIL space with high school kids or not or do they want to go the transfer route one more season. Which I think they will do. Invest as much or more NIL into the transfer market as the high school kids.

2025 class will be heavy high school and NIL money to high school players.

Just my opinion but I think that’s the way it goes the next couple years. I could see us landing a couple top WRs out of high school. A couple OL and couple DL. This season

TJ Moore from Tampa Catholic. KN thinks he’s a strong lean to Florida. Jeris McIntyre is the coach and former AU player you’re thinking about.
