Here's my concern with Enos

Let me start off by saying that Enos is a solid hire but I believe we are moving backwards.
Yes, Enos was good while he was here but my fear is that we will fall back into the "ground and pound" approach that I believe Sam wants to return to.
I believe this approach is outdated and we are moving in the wrong direction.
I don't think CSP is comfortable with a more wide open attack and that was part of the issue with Kindle Breyers (but not the only one)
Look at the TCU Michigan game. Michigan was a run oriented team against a wide open offense. Now image Arkansas playing the Michigan role against 6 TCUs each year with vastly more talent.

Nothing about Enos is ground and pound. Last time he was here, we ran it around 100 times less per season than what we did this year. If anything, we’re going to pass the ball more going forward.

Michigan beat the brakes off OSU using this approach?
And you think Michigan's ground and pound lost them the game?
Pretty sure the goal line stop in the 1st, the goal line fumble and the 2 picks 6s and then a fumbled snap at the end is what lost them the game.
Had dick to do with their offensive style.

Look it up, besides 1 year at Bama (last year) he's been a total failure against anyone in the top 2-3.
He couldn't get it done against Liberty and Mizzou when it counted.

So now the Liberty loss is no longer because we had a hurt qb with no viable backup but because briles sucks? I get it, he went looking at other schools one too many times but can we please stop acting as if briles is a terrible OC who we told to hit the road?

You mean the year we went 4-8 and was playing from behind most of the games?
I'm willing to bet Briles ran it more, passed it more, and had more total offense.

I'm not acting like he's terrible.
He was the OC of a 7-6 team that couldn't do anything against the top 2 teams in the division and couldn't score against Liberty and Mizzou when it counted.
Not acting like Enos makes us a 10 win team either but I'm pretty confident he won't make us worse than last year.

Petrino is the only person that has managed any sort of "week in and week out" winning in the SEC in 30 years.
Kendal, Enos, Sean McVay doesn't really change that.

I get the reservations but at most this is a wash. I don't see how it could be perceived as moving backwards. We've griped about QB development since Briles got here and now we remedy that with one of the best options available with a proven track record AT THIS SCHOOL that he can run a successful offense. I don't know what more the guy needs to do to remedy concern.

Here is where it gets interesting. Enos numbers go down each year ending with his injury decimated final year when Austin Allen was hurt all season and out multiple times and returning SEC leading rusher Rawleigh Williams was lost for the season in fall ball.
Meanwhile Briles numbers go up every season including his injury riddled final season when KJ Jefferson was hurt most of the season and out multiple times. All-SEC WR and 1st round draft choice Treylon Burks was also missing and assumed to hurt the offensive firepower.
Enos:

This.
Our pass/run yardage splits were about 49/51, meaning that 49% came from passing and 51% came from the run. Maryland was 65/35 this year in favor of the pass. We were closer to 60/40 when Enos was here last time.
Like Chesh said, I expect us to air it out more and mix in more PA from the pistol.
