Ever heard of Anthony Richardson?

Yes, the guy who has tools Dart doesnt even come close to possessing. NFL draft doesnt just draft based on the season you have. You can have a great season as a QB and go undrafted. Likewise you can be a very toolsy QB in the way Richardson is, have a very up and down season, and still get drafted and sometimes in the better rounds even.

Bo Nix was going to be drafted way behind Richardson but he had a WAY WAY better season the Richardson had. Thats how the draft works.

Darts problem is he needs to show more. Had a so-so season and nothing really jumped out about him. Not saying things cant change but to assume a year ahead of the fact he's definitely gone is quite the leap.

I wish this aspect of the transfer portal would go away too.

Yeah all it takes is for Daniels to get hit the wrong way and Nuss is our QB. Happened a couple times this past season and we even rotated them in the bowl game. The staff clearly trust Nuss to take QB1 snaps. IT's still not out of the realm of possibility Nuss flat out beats Daniels out.

This is true. Nuss has shown himself to be more than capable.

Do you not realize that Jayden Daniels is a transfer too? Sure would be nice to have good backups for a qb who runs so much, but the boy looks indestructible. A 6'3" 185 pound mountain of a man/boy.

He played over 200lb last year, and he's got all spring and summer in LSU's strength and nutrition program.

That's kind of the problem with this take.

LSU fans are assuming since X happened, then Y must be true.

I hope it is, I hope Nuss stays another year and develops into the next Joe Burrow but it's entirely possible that Howard made his own independent decision not based on Nuss at all.

And it's also possible that Nuss changes his mind at any time if he doesn't win the job in the spring.

Again, these kids make dumb decisions all the time, you're looking at it through the lens of someone who is older and trying to analyze the decisions and find hidden meaning.

Yes, many LSU fans were alluding that he was the 2nd coming of Joe Burrow, many, if not most...... I still like the kid and he has really good potential...... He was only a true freshmen for crying out loud and I will not turn face and degrade him... I wish him the best at Ole Miss.

You realize Jackson Dart was a borderline 5 star, just like Howard, right?

Matt Corral too

Yep and they don’t have the overall talent that Walker has

I know LSU fans are in their feelings about him transferring and butthurt he chose Ole Miss but anyone denying this kid’s raw talent is a fool.

There's also Matt Leinart, Jamarcus Russell, Matt Barkley, and Jalen Hurts.

I mean you can certainly hope that based on his recruiting rankings but nobody has seen him actually play college football to know that

We've seen a little.

His height is going to limit him.

Kiffin has done just fine with athletic, smaller QBs (Corral, Sims).

Right, but I wasn’t going to be unfair to him and judge his 4 passes he threw against Purdue in a negative way. I think what’s fair is saying we know very little about how good he actually is as of now. To say “he’s the most talented QB Kiffin has ever had” means either a) he has no idea how many high profile QBs Kiffin has coached or b) is overrating Howard for purposes of this thread. Howard was never some freak like Jamarcus

Kiffin also coached Leinart and Jalen Hurts, among others.
