And I would take Brian Kelly over any of the other coaches on that list!

I'd say Kirby is a clear #2... his wins are about the same as Jimbo and the losses are a lot "better".

UGA's losses are to 2 national championship teams (LSU in SECCG, Bama in NCG), 2 to teams that finished #2 (2018 Bama in SECCG, 2021 Bama in SECCG) and a top 10 Texas team in the sugar bowl.

There's only one non-NY6 or playoff game that he's taken UGA to in the post season (the Liberty Bowl his first year). Other than year 1, NY6 has been UGA's floor. And he's won most of them.

Dude is a Peach Bowl loss away from losing every single NY6 game without a single win in any of them

And now he is at a program with no limitations on the talent or staff he can bring in.

How did Saban do at Michigan St?

Acting like Notre Dame isn’t a Top 10 program

Fun fact: Mark Stoops has better postseason wins from 8 years at Kentucky than Kelly does from 14 years at Notre Dame & LSU

The only reason it still is, is because of Brian Kelly.

Why are you comparing 3 years at Michigan St to 12 years at Notre Dame?

Because the greatest coach of all time didn't win a single bowl game at Michigan St.

Let's try a different excercise...what was Notre Dames bowl record the 10 years leading up to the Brian Kelly hire. That should tell you what the state of Notre Dame football was (and is) prior to his hire. I'll hang up and wait for this one!

Assuming this ranking is based on win %. Pittman and Beamer have such a small sample size, not sure they shouldn't be in a different tier, along with Drink.

because comparing the opponents each played in their bowl games is apples to apples.

they had lost 9 of their previous 10 bowl appearances dating back to their 1993 Cotton Bowl win and missed bowls entirely 6 of those seasons. Their lone win was in the Hawaii Bowl against 7-6 Hawaii. Notre Dame had only finished ranked in the top 15 once since 2000. Kelly did that 7 times in 12 years. Notre Dame hadn't been a top 10 program since Lou Holtz. They averaged over 5 losses a season between Holtz and Kelly. Kelly averaged 3 over 12 seasons. Notre Dame losing major Bowl games has been going on for 30 years

Kelly had 20 years experience as a head coach prior to Notre Dame? Saban had one year of head coach experience prior to Michigan State.

I'm not saying Kelly is a bad coach but is he really a great coach?

If we are going to include all 20 years he's been a head coach, then you will also have to acknowledge his 2 national titles at Grand Valley State in that time frame. He's won every where he's been. That's generally a sign someone is a pretty good coach.

It is disturbing how Brian Kelly never won a conference championship at ND

Also apparently he won absolutely nothing at CMU and Cincy.

We should fire him
