Who are some of the blockbuster portal moves that were a huge success in the SEC?

It’s still early, but it seems to me that the portal is a mechanism to fill holes in your roster with midgrade/average players. Nothing more.

We got rid of Burton and went 13-0 this year instead of 12-1. Huge move getting rid of that selfish clown that went on to go lose a couple more games at some other school this season

Perhaps, but Mizzou brought in 5 or 6 DL from the portal this time last year and it ended up being the strength of our team this season. None of them were blockbuster, and we had some pretty good DL pieces to begin with, but the portal definitely allowed our defense to be very competitive.

Not hard to go 13-0 with that schedule. Oregon and LSU basically as home games and Tennessee at home. The only 3 teams Georgia has played this year and getting Ohio St too in basically a home game.
Must be nice to have a schedule that sets up so great. Those road games at Kentucky, at Missouri and at Miss St were a gauntlet.
