I Want DeMeco Ryans To Succeed Saban

He's the defensive coordinator for the #1 total and scoring defense in the NFL right now, the San Francisco 49ers. Bama great who's young, hungry, loves the program. It would be a dream if he can come back to continue the legacy.

Would be great but he’ll be an NFL head coach next year.

No.
Hell be nfl coach. We need to stop making posts about this

I’m always skeptical of NFL coaches at the college level. Few guys that come up coaching entirely in the NFL have much college success.
I’m glad DeMeco is doing well though. Great player and seems like a stand up guy.

Hell, let's just rehire Mike Shula while we're at it.
Seriously, no more gambles on the unproven. Hire a coach who's had head coaching success at the college level. frick going through another Mike Dubose/Shula era.

Big difference between the two. Mike Shula was a shitty offensive coordinator for the Bucs whose offenses prevented an all-time great defensive unit from winning more. DeMeco Ryans is one of the best defensive coordinators in the NFL and one of the most desirable coaching candidates out there.

He can't protect his QBs ankles, hard pass.

do you football much? Alabama is good enough to get an experienced HC

So who is that going to be? There are no proven coaches who can currently hold a candle to Nick Saban. And none of the more successful ones are coming here. Kirby is becoming one but he will never leave GA. Dabo has enjoyed success, but he shite the bed the last 2 years and seems to dislike NIL as much as Saban does.
Nobody will want to be the one to follow Saban. Nobody. Unless it’s a D coordinator who works with him for a few years while enjoying success with an understanding that he is a coach in waiting. Demeco doesn’t sound bad to me. If it’s a money thing, I’m sure we can figure that out.
The sad truth is we need an overhaul of scheme and someone to bring back passion and accountability. Will be a difficult find in this day and age, especially among “proven” coaches.

Not exactly true. Urban Meyer has averaged 11 wins per season across his entire career. AND he has won three national championships at two different schools.
Pretty damn solid, even if he does fake the occasional heart attack.

I don’t think Urban the “oil checker” is getting hired here. Mike “it’s rolling” Price never coached a game and couldn’t make it out of the Florida scrip club before he got shite canned. Bama learned a valuable lesson, thus Urban won’t be an option, regardless of 11 win seasons or rosters with literal murderers.
Any other great thoughts? I mean if we really wanted a sexual deviant we could have brought Freeze in before the barn did.

We have to be prepared for someone totally different than Saban....just not gonna follow him with....him...I'm not sure who it will be, but it will be a coach nothing like Saban....

Leonhard seems like a calmer version of Saban.

Disagree. Next guy will inherit a program that is (assumingly) rolling. Saban does not have the same cult of personality Bryant had- where we'll have to replace Saban as a coach, we had to replace Bryant as a mythical figure.
The next HC will be in the same position Ryan Day and Lincoln Riley were when they got the jobs.

Says who? There is no guarantee of this and I would say it is unlikely. Those were unique situations and I would say not the normal way coaches depart.
Say Saban keeps the coordinator baws and we start Milroe next year. We go 8-4, lose more talent to the transfer portal, then before you know it we are Y2K FSU and in a constant state of rebuilding.
Hiring a great young D coordinator would be a smart move right now. We would want them to ultimately take over the reins, and even better if they had ties to the University (thus this would be their dream job). Does this person exist? Not sure. But that would be our best case scenario and best hope to turn the D around where we have really been struggling. Just my opinion of course.

I want Dabo. Lane Kiffin would be an absolute disaster. He's still an immature little troll. I don't want someone obsessed with Twitter associated with the university as its leader.
Ryans is way too much of a risk.

I have a bad feeling there is going to be a power vacuum after Saban leaves resulting in another “fax-in” situation where they are forced to hire a retard like Dubose.

It's a forum, people are going to post about things that they want to talk about. I just wish people would quit trying to dog every post or thread they don't agree with. If people don't like the thread you don't have to post, you can let other people who want to talk about it do so.

We could do much worse, but he hasn’t been setting the world on fire lately. Losing games he didn’t lose during their 5 year run.
Plus, there is one other major issue. Saban isn’t leaving. Thus, we need a good coordinator with potential to move into a head coaching job. Hate Kirby for being the bitch that he is, but respect him for being patient, taking his dream job, and installing a carbon copy of what Saban gave up too early on with his transition to speed and agility (cream puff) defense.
