For me to say this. But it is the only board I hang out on. I’m a 51 yr old Engineer. My Pops is an 83 yr old Engineer. Retired of course. After a tough week he is now in Hospice. The only words he spoke last week was “well....shite” when Ole Miss missed the 2 point conversion. He was in bed and I sat by him and watched. I am sure most of you can relate how college football can bring a father and son together.

In that incoherent speech I gave I ask for a quick prayer. And keep your Dad close when you watch games. And keep your son close. That is why we love this game so much. Sorry for the rule breaking and carry on.

Went through that with my dad the last part of 2021 and he passed mid January.

Sorry for your dad being in hospice and College football is one of the lasting things we shared together.

Best wishes man I can relate. Once they start to decline it's crazy because that person who seemed invincible when you were little is now falling apart in front of you. Some things are bigger than football but made better by a mutual love of football.

I’m sorry to hear this. Hopefully you’ll eventually be able to be truly thankful for the gift that he was.

I’m so sorry. My dad degraded quickly (idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis) and basically responded the same after the 2014 Iron Bowl. I’m just glad the man got to witness Punt, Bama, Punt and the Kick 6 in person.
Take care friend and remember you’re not alone.

Thanks for sharing that story about your pops. I lost my father when I was 8. I’m 47 now and still miss him everyday. I lost my grandfather not long after Auburn’s national championship. He was happy to know that his “Aubun boy” got to see the game live. He still fondly remembered watching the 1957 Auburn national champion team play live. I will say a prayer for your father, you and your family.

Bless you and your daddy and your whole family. I think this is a fine place for you to tell your story too. Prayers for you all, I was in the same situation with my mom last summer. It’s tough but I know you are and will always be glad you were there with him.

Sorry you are having to go through that, my mom passed last month after an incredibly quick decline. In August she was fine, then 2 months in the hospital and gone. Cherish all the memories you made and try to remember they will always be with you no matter what.

Similar experience, was with my Dad when Kick 6 happened. I said a bad word, he just looked like "it's only a game". That moment put things in perspective. He hung in for another 45 days. Your Dad is living, not dying. Just remember that. Prayers for you, Dad and all the family. These are special memories to hang onto.

Believe or not, he is still teaching you lessons to live by.
