True or false

Which is odd considering who our head coach is. IMO had they been better, our total offense and defense would have been a lot better. Increased offense production, reduces strain on the defense. Thereby almost nobody would be pondering who needs to be fired.

Maybe it was just a strength & conditioning problem, so Jamil Walker was fired?

True. But it still doesn't fix the seemingly weekly retard play calls and injuries to key players.

O line, though, could/would have definetly won the Mizzou and Liberty games.

I will also add.

We were the most bipolar team that I have ever seen. Worldbeaters in Offense in a very few games, Incredible on Defense against LSU and OM...

Then absolutely sucked on both sides throughout various contests. Not much difference in the competition other than a few stunts/schemes with Liberty, etc.

If Defense would have played as well during the LSU and OM games all season, we win 3 more.

If Offense played as well as we did in OM and BYU games we win 2-3 more.

False

Better OL doesn’t change the coaching decisions to…not play KJ against Liberty and let Hornsby run the offense which would’ve allowed Rocket to get more yards…Mismanagement of the aTm game…Wait too late to insert the white kid at QB against LSU and mismanagement of red zone opportunities, leaving points on the field…Horrible play call decisions on sequence of first and goal against Missouri.

If the coaching was better in game, the few more wins are there, maybe even 4 more wins.

I don’t mind to call out players when they’re underperforming, but coaching is what let this team down this year.

I can’t speak for OP but I think he’s saying Briles wasn’t the main problem with the offense. Look at how bad Luke Jones was abused the second half of the season

nvm saw the last line of his post. Still think the OL woes were more to blame for our red zone and short yardage struggles

True.

This season we had 4 losses where we had goal line situations late where we couldn’t punch it in and/or just derped it up. The A&M, Liberty, LSU, and Mizzou games all featured us getting stuffed at the goal line and having to settle for 3 which ultimately lost the game (LSU, Mizz), outright losing the game (Lib), or turning it over (A&M).

That shite is on Briles, but it’s interesting that Kennedy doesn’t seem to be held to account for the offensive line—which was supposed to be a team strength—taking a colossal step back this year and coming up small on the goal line in several games.

False.

This a pretty good offensive line that improved from 85th in passing last year to 65th this year. Scoring points per game remained the same and so has rushing yards per game.

What has hurt more than anything is poor game management from Pittman. Injuries in the secondary and whiffing on replacements in the portal on defense with both defensive line and secondary. But still Arkansas had a good chance to go 10-2 but when you take games off like Sam did we get 6-6 instead.

what does the oline have to with an increase in passing yards? You think having a better passing offense, after losing your best receiver is just an indicator of how much better pass protection was?

To be fair none of Pitt's recruits have matured enough to start on the o-line yet. This year was 3 chad guys and a Bert recruit and a transfer.

Arkansas was ranked 80th in sacks allowed in 2021 to 89th this year. That is below average and if it wasn't for the strength and legs of Jefferson then it would be below 100th. But despite the poor pass protection, the passing game improved from 213 yards a game to 230 a game thanks to the hands of Matt Landers.

Crawford was a guy Pittman brought in from the portal even though he looked at us originally when Chad was here. He looked pretty damn awful when he got out there and he was supposed to be our best lineman on the bench. So it sounds like there isn’t much help in the trenches coming up

Yeah I think a couple Pittmans early o-line recruits haven't panned out but its clear he prefers the road grinder giant humans on the O-line rather than the athletic type chode recruited.

It is easier to run block than to pass block. You don't need to be as athletic to run block but with pass blocking you need to have quick feet.

Dalton Wagner has feet slower than smoke rising off shite.

The big thing that was missing, and could have been the difference in close games, was on the field leadership.
Offensive and defensive.

Offense - KJ needs to step it up and get vocal when something goes wrong on O. He may be doing it, but I haven't seen it.
Defense - Nobody stepped up. Nobody. No Grant Morgan this year.

That would have been Catalon this year. Losing him was devastating.
