Question for Aggs (and only Aggs). I am thinking of coming to College Station for LSU ...

I have been trying to visit one or two SEC stadiums each year. Will it be the normal Aggy experience or will the fans be a no show since it is a down year and Thanksgiving break?

A&M usually attends Thanksgiving weekend games but they want to go back to their traditional Thanksgiving night game
I think it will be well attended and LSU fans will show up as well

Two things about all the visits I had to College Station. I know people here give the Aggies crap, but attend the Yell Practice. It is an awesome tradition. Second thing is that Aggie band!!! I never played in the band and my musical interest is in the area of Zeppelin, but I enjoy watching them march.

I can only speak on behalf of Texas, but a large faction of kids that go to public schools in the state are from the Dallas or Houston metro areas. If their respective team isn't any good, they're not leaving their families over thanksgiving to get sit in the cold weather and watch meaningless football for the sake of "team spirit".
Maybe it'll be different since LSU is a "rival" and really good this year.

I'm thinking about going as well if I can make the logistics work. Once game time gets announced here soon that'll impact my decision.

It likely wont be a full stadium, but it wont be 1/3 empty either. The 11am Florida game was still right at 100k attendance and that matchup didnt have much of a reason to come out for either.
For better or worse, the fans still show up for the most part. The fact that it's not actually on thanksgiving day like it used to be will probably help out some.
I'd say you'd still get a mostly complete experience if you do come to town. You'll likely get treated well and invited to several tailgates if you dont have anywhere to go and walk through the main tailgating spots on the day of.

One thing I noticed since I got fleeced on ticket sales last week, the 12th man foundation gobbles up tons of tickets and then resells them.
Ergo, I, as an LSU fan, indirectly contributed to the 12th man foundation

quote:There will be some no shows. It will still be a good crowd, but it doesn't have the same buzz as a regular weekend game even when we are playing well. Due to the holiday, if it's a night game, you'll have a lot of students rolling into town that afternoon. If it's an 11 a.m. game, I think a lot of students will pass in order to spend time at home.

It will be full.
I may be selling my tickets but there are always other Aggies or Tigers that want them.
