All the ink that was spilled and hot air spewed on talk radio about Hornsby

Was all for nothing. He sucks, just like the coaches thought. Made of glass, no vision, and cannot pass. If he wants to transfer, like he seems to threaten on social media tantrums weekly, go for it. Addition by subtraction

Now our coaches also suck, and half the other players also suck, but at least they don't have a yearslong dalliance with leaving that puts our fanbase's panties in an inexplicable wad

Hornsby is a play maker, he should be WR.

I think I said that all last year. Also said KJ is a Tight End, which means we don’t really have a QB. At least not one that can read a defense.

I’m probably one of the biggest briles supporters on this board beside you, but even I have to admit at some point it is briles job to develop the qbs we have or find one in the portal. It’s year 3 and we have as you’ve said, a tight end as a starting qb and a receiver as his backup

While I never said Hornsby was the answer, he would have won the game for us last week. He’s better than a broke KJ.

Briles is a POS developer of talent.

Our most ‘QB like’ QB is Fortin.
But he’s not as much of a threat running double reverses and QB option sweeps. So he’s buried on the depth chart behind a TE and a WR.

No he is buried because he played like arse in his last start over Hornsby.

I agree, he isn’t doing his job of developing QBs we have or recruiting them apparently. We will see with this next one that is committed. We could have seen with Lucas Coley, but he didn’t see a future here with KJ, so he transferred to Houston. Think we have a hurt Ole Miss transfer QB too, don’t we?

I am not dissing him as a person. He is a tremendous athlete. QB is not working out for him, however. Maybe in time it could, but it is far from a finished work at the P5 level. Perhaps at a lower level.
However, he has P5 athletic ability I believe. Just not at QB, not at this time.
I think he would be wise to consider his long term chances at the NFL. If he has any aspirations of playing in the league, he needs to consider a position change, and the sooner the better.
Perhaps corner or safety on defense, or if he has adequate catching skills, a shot at WR.

I was neutral on this until all the passive aggressive twitter bullshite. There's no way he's a positive locker room influence with an attitude like that.

Move Hornsby to corner and get a real QB from the portal.

Even more important, imo, KJ might have played against LSU.

KJ could have played yesterday.

He sat out over bruising, not fractures or neurological issues, bruising.

I think K.J is ready to go drafted or not.

I don't think anyone can say they expected the game wrecker #40 true freshman linebacker for LSU

Malik is a true 4.3 and that dude ran him down twice (albeit with a bit of a running start over Malik changing direction and trying to pull away), plus #40 wreaking havoc on Fortin

WR, not DB

he has Rafe Peevey Scared Groundhog Disease as a QB, i.e., he looks like he's going to keep running up into the stands and then run away from the Dr Pepper guy

what triple options teams are there still? I doubt even Georgia Southern anymore since Clay Helton took over. Army, Navy, Air Force if he's service academy intellect.

Kids need to start learning how to figure shite out without having their egos stroked.

He actually can still be a QB, but it's going to have to be at a G5 or a 1-AA with triple option packaged in so he can start seeing things in slow motion

He looked a step slower in the cold yesterday I thought.
