The easiest answer to me is Jordan Battle. I thought he would have a highlight reel year; and has honestly disappeared in more games than he has made a difference.

He singlehandedly killed our drive to go up 14 against Tennessee.

Battle might as well not be on the field, he never does anything

Henry T. I’m use to Bama LBs being thumpers and he is “catching” the ball carrier on most of his tackles.

THIS!! I'm not really referring to their play as a unit. To me, I'm seeing too many lineman getting absolutely destroyed on both sides of the ball. Conditioning seems to be fine but strength is way down the ladder from previous lines. We used to do the manhandling, now it's us getting manhandled! I know I'm not the only one seeing this???

Battle is average. He’s always in the right place, doesn’t seem to miss any assignments but he appears to disappear because he isn’t a “playmaker”.
Even the pick six in last years seccg, he was in the right place and Bennett just threw it right to him. Didn’t have to make a play on the ball and the return was wide open.
I’m sure he does a lot in alignments and such but he just reminds me of Justin Woodall. Good, steady, nothing extra

I’m horribly underwhelmed with the tes overall. Randolph isn’t a dominant blocker. Actually, he’s very mediocre. Latu is a nothing burger and has been for two years. His only highlight is an a day game td.
But this isn’t on them. This is on the staff. Never should have had those thin numbers. Or it’s on the coaching staff that weren’t able to get either freshmen ready for any playing time at all. There should have been a lot of OT to get one ready

As far as the defensive line, we okay most of our downs with only two defensive linemen. Then we have Will and Dallas on each side.
There have been a shitload of plays this year where we are actually running a 2-4-5 or a 2-3-6.
And that shite hasn’t worked

I thought too and then i saw him interviews that day and i think he has become fat and slow

Battle isn't real bright but he talks a lot. Average player.

He probably shouldn’t have come back. He was probably a 2nd round safety last draft. Doubt he’ll go that high next year

DJ Dale is beyond useless
This. he is about 1/100th the player that Daron Payne or Quinnen Williams were in the middle and here along lies a huge deficiency in the defense. Why was the staff impressed with him as a true freshmen? He is a 3 star and it shows.

We were really thin at the tackle position when he came in to the program. Which validated his immediate playing time

More than underwhelming players it's the Alphas that have not emerged. Gibbs, yes but no one else. Bryce gets a pass because he is not 100%. Mckinstry comes the closest after that but everyone else has been a disappointment.

I'd give the shirt off my back to have 11 CRAZY Tony's on our defense right now

Perhaps it’s the coaching, but we never see DBs look for the ball now
I’m not trying to be a dick, but when have they ever looked for the ball in sabans era? I’m starting to think some of y’all are just bitching to bitch
That or people just have no fricking idea what they’re watching on the screen

I want to say the receivers but I complained all last year that outside of jamo and metchie we had nothing, complained preseason that we were going to have nothing... and sure enough we have nothing.
So I guess I'm not "underwhelmed", they're just as bad as advertised.

Bryce isn’t an alpha in terms of his presence, but his play on the field is alpha. He may have had the best play in his career Saturday night after underperforming all game. It may not be the kind we are used to, but he had that dog in him.

It’s really hard to blame the players when the scheme is so bad we run a 1 DL front

No complaints about Bryce, really. Even allowing for injury he has been stellar . His supporting cast been a great disappointment; again with the exception of Gibbs. With one or two elite WR’s we would be undefeated.
