Etheridge would have also been a good choice, but go crazy Cadillac, go crazy.

It doesn't. If anything, this insulates Zac Etheridge more as now the next HC doesn't need to consider whether he wants the last "HC" on his own staff which can cause tension.

I think they picked Caddy because he has next to no real shot or even aspirations to become a HC himself, so there is no worry with forcing him to eat these upcoming losses on his resume.

It's a good choice, but don't read anything into this meaning that this somehow guarantees anyone anything. If you want a baller big name HC you need to understand that they're not going to be told who to hire or retain. Period.

No worries. Clesi left before the season started and is working at New Mexico St.

Usually in these situations this is the type coach they pick. They want the coordinators to still have plenty of time to game plan and not have to deal with media etc. It is usually also a coach that is popular with the players see Coach O at USC. I wouldn’t read much into anything.

I think we'll leave that up to Lane. I hope he keeps Caddie around though. Good for everyone involved.

First time "Who would be the interim?" was asked, Caddie was my answer.
